Hcs 325 Week 1

...Roles and Functions MELISSA SPENCER HCS/325 June 24, 2013 Kathy Lawrence Roles and Functions There are four main different functions that a manager will practice in a health care setting. These four functions are organizing, planning, controlling and leading. “Organizing is the process of assigning task, allocating resources, and arranging and coordinating the activities and groups to implement groups; planning is the process of setting performance objectives and determining what actions should be taken to accomplish them; controlling is the process of measuring the work performance, comparing results to objectives and taking corrective action as needed; leading is the process of arousing people’s enthusiasm to work hard to fulfill plans and accomplish objectives” (Lombardi & Schermerhorn, 2007, ). As a manager in a previous job, I do know that with my personal experience that most of the time the four functions of management basically overlapped each other or they were not done in order. As managers, we can be so caught up in the task that we are doing that it isn’t recognized that these functions of management are not being done correctly. During this previous job, I did tend to notice that something just wasn’t functioning properly. I began to slow down my routine to see if I could find where the flaw was in my managing. When it came to the function of controlling I found that is where I had some problems going on. Once, I readjusted what I was doing; my...

This stage is when senior citizens start retirement and hours decrease in the work force to part time employment. In later adulthood is when humans start deteriorating physically and mentally. The golden years are times of joy for some and a time of sorrow for others. The transition from being an active adult and suddenly growing older and entering retirement is a major changing experience that will be great for some and not great for others. Later adult stage takes mental preparation, being emotionally prepared will make the transition easier to adapt. People see the later adulthood stage as a time to relax and to finally travel around the world. The reality is different many senior citizens will struggle to adapt to the new lifestyle, that will have them face financial hardship and illnesses, and treatments that they will not be able to afford. The elderly stage of life is the most difficult stage that as humans that we will have to face. During this stage this population loose many great friends...

All managers should want to help their organization they are working for succeed and perform their best by utilizing as many resources as possible. Healthcare managers should recognize problems, opportunities, make decisions, and take appropriate action when necessary (Lombardi and Schermerhorn, 2007). Planning, organizing, controlling, and leading the four major functions in healthcare management. I will discuss these functions and how they relate to healthcare settings. Four Functions Healthcare organizations can be dynamic and complex. These types of organizations need managers that can provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of its employees. ...Tuyet Chavez BUSN 115 Professor John Kyser 15 November 2015 Develop a creative name for your Lemonade Stand, and then explain why a name is important when you are considering branding options? The name that I have chosen to go with for my lemonade stand is “The undistracted lemon squeezer”. The reason I decided to come up with this name is because, it sounds like my lemonade stand is the destroyer of all lemons. The name also makes it sound like this lemonade stand can be the bet out there. It can make any perfect glass of ice cold liquid gold, turn into amazing refreshing lemonade. I believe that my lemonade stand name is vital when I am considering marketing alternatives because I believe a name can make a difference. If it is not a catchy name, not many will notice it. People will just look at the stand and walk away if the name is just the lemonade stand. Since it’s a catchy name; it’s absolutely impossible that a client that makes a trip to quench their thirst will forget a name like the undistracted lemon squeezer. Create a Mission Statement for your Lemonade Stand (Chapter 7); then explain why a mission statement is important for any company? To me a statement of purpose is the thing that ought to help a man to continue spending their cash at a foundation. A few illustrations of the statement of purpose are to help the populace of the group, fulfill the customer needs, and so on. The undistracted lemon squeezer stand's main goal is to raise cash to further...

...ITS-325 Project Part 1 Summary:  Understand the business need of First World Bank Savings and Loan. Banking services that meet required regulations, and provide use of credit cards and loan application in a Linux / open source infrastructure.  Point out specific legislation and regulations that meet the statutory compliance criteria. The proposed plan would have to meet PCI / SOX / and GLBA regulations. For PCI compliance we would need to conduct an annual risk assessment using a SAQ (self-assessment questionnaire), and conduct quarterly PCI scans using an approved vendor. If our business grew to 6 million transactions per year, we would need to conduct an annual internal audit, in addition to the PCI scans. Some of the basics for PCI functionality includes, network hardening on web applications to protect cardholder data, including (but not excluded to) password policy enforcement, encryption, maintaining secure systems, keeping systems up to date on anti-virus, restricting business access to cardholder data, restricting physical access to data, tracking and monitoring access to all network resources, regular tests on security. If our web applications evolved into more services such as shareholder infrastructure, we would need to delve into the SOX regulations. Because we are offering loan services, we would need to abide by the Gramm Leach Bliley Act rules. Some of this would involve privacy notices about how we divulge their data.  Assess the...
