Human resources tools are essential to keep employees educated on policies, procedures, training, recruiting, etc. Starting with recruiting human resources plays a major role in a company’s desire to gain and or continue success. Human resources will place adds on job boards within the workplace, online, or even in the local newspaper. Upon putting the adds out there human resources must use the correct selection tools in order to narrow down the number of qualified candidates for the open position/ positions.

Upon choosing the correct candidate for the open position/ positions human resources will set up training or orientation for the new employee/ employees. Human resources will coordinate these training seminars or an orientation class schedule for the new employee or employees. Human resources must make certain that each and every new employee entering the company be trained and or orientated equally and properly with the other employees. This is essential for the new employees confidence when putting them out with the employees whom have been with the company for any length of time.

It is also human resources responsibility to educate new and current employees about incentives being offered, for better performance for example. Policies and procedures could and most likely will change on some level with time, which leaves it in the human resources department’s hands to educate the employees about the inevitable changes coming. This could come in the form of a memo, or a training course. Also just a meeting could be a great and simple option in order to educate the employees on the changes.

Also if there are benefits offered upon hire or after being employed by the company

...Capstone CheckPoint There are several pieces to a complicated puzzle which is called Medical Billing Process and HIPAA, ICD, CPT and HCPCS contribute their own uniqueness to the process. HIPAA is the umbrella to the process. HIPAA compliance, as far as protecting the patient’s rights and confidentiality and the physician, has to take place first in the medical billing process. HIPAA influences the medical staff in determining financial responsibility, either as private pay, insurance and personal information who is the responsible party. HIPAA statement has to be signed by the patient, giving authorization for who can obtain their personal information. Then ICD, CPT and HCPCS come under the umbrella each filling a specific area of in the process of medical billing. They are references that are used for certain areas, either by patient billing, physicians and medical facilities. ICD are codes that reference the type of service the patient receives while in staying in a hospital. CPT are numerical codes that are assigned by medical coders and dictate the type of procedures that have been completed on a patient. HCPCS codes are used for outpatient services that physicians or medical facilities use to complete the medical billing process. This is a brief overview of each area, but all of them have to fit like a tight glove to avoid errors in billing. When you look into the advanced purpose of each coding device, you see how complex the medical billing...

...There are five steps in the claims adjudication process. Initial processing is the first step. Initial processing finds any problems such as; name, identification number, or the plan of service code is wrong. This has to be fixed before anything further can happen. Automated review is a system that checks for ten things that maybe reflected on their payment policy. The review checks for the following; patient’s time limits for filing claims, referral forms, preauthorization, and the patient’s eligibility benefits, bundled codes, non-covered services, medical review, concurrent care, utilization review, and duplicate dates of service. The third step is manual review. Manual review happens if problems occur from the previous review; the claim is suspended and set aside for development. This step is usually followed to review the medical necessity of an unlisted procedure. Determination is the fourth important step. This is where the decision is made to pay it, deny it, or to pay it at a reduced level. If the service falls within normal standings, it will be paid. If it is not reimbursable, the item on the claim is denied. If the examiner determines that the service was at too high a level for the diagnosis, a lower-level code is assigned. The last step is making a payment. If payment is due, the payer sends it to the provider along with a transaction that explains the payment decisions to the provider. Adjudication process is an important process because it checks for any errors...

...Capstone Checkpoint Name HUM130 Date Instructor Capstone Checkpoint I feel learning about world religions has given a better understanding to the meaning of different religions in certain cultures. I believe learning about different religions has provided in depth knowledge of the traditions and beliefs in world religions. Before this course, I did not have the understanding and knowledge of religions I now have. I feel I learned a tremendous amount in this course. I find religion to be a very interesting topic and enjoy learning about the similarities and differences. Additionally, the text was very instrumental in explaining the traditions, beliefs, and the history behind them. I feel this course has opened up my mind to many possibilities in regard to religion. I have sometimes questioned some of the beliefs in my own religion, Roman Catholicism. I will now and always remain true to the traditions and beliefs of Catholicism, but I found certain traditions and beliefs in other faiths interesting and some I may adopt in my own life to become a better person. Learning others beliefs and attitudes is important to provide an understanding of another’s way of thinking. Having knowledge of other religions eliminates judgment of others. Instead of immediately judging someone because of his or her beliefs, an understanding will help to treat one another with respect and to respect other’s beliefs. Many people hate other cultures, religions, and declare...

...Capstone CheckPoint AED/222 Terry-Haskell McDonald January 30, 2014 Capstone CheckPoint America educational system has a unique care for special education unlike many other countries. America supports the education for any special education student, and provides different services for those special students. One of the greatest strength that this country has is providing the proper education with students with any time of disabilities. For example, The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which according to The National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (2012) it was originally enacted by Congress in 1975. IDEA ensures that children with disabilities have an opportunity to receive a free public education. This act gives students with disabilities a chance to succeed in the classroom by providing them with special services. They are able to receive accommodations, services, plans, goals, special education, and more to help student’s education. Another important strength in American education is that regardless of color, race, religion, and even legal status children are able to receive free public education. America has a great strength of providing education to special need students, but it also has it weakness. One of those weaknesses I believe is that some schools may not have enough funding to provide the necessary services for those special education students. Classrooms size in America are increasing, services are being...

...You are at your graduation dinner. Your best friend or favorite relative stands up and talks about your five most significant strengths that contributed to your successful graduation from college. What do you think they are? At my graduation dinner, the person who would most likely talk about my journey on the road to receiving my degree would be my mother. She is the one person who has and will continue to see my weaknesses and strengths during this journey. Therefore, I think my mother would say that my five significant strengths would be as follows: 1. My versatility 2. The ability to multi-task 3. Driven / Goal-oriented 4. Creative 5. Self Confidence 1. My versatility Throughout these past nine weeks, I have been twisted and pulled in so many directions. I have had to be very flexible with everything life has thrown at me. I believe I am versatile because I know that to overcome a challenge, one has to adjust whichever way is needed to succeed. 2. The ability to multi-task If life came with a manual, I think that the most recent requirement to succeed in this age would be the ability to multi-task. Even though my responsibilities are not many compared to my classmates, present and future, I still have enough in which it requires me to be this way. My multi-tasking is one of my greatest strengths because it allows me to focus on more than one goal and complete each successfully and competently. 3. Driven / Goal-oriented My third most significant strength is...

...Capstone Checkpoint I think people should play the biggest role in preserving not only our own backyards but the woods, lakes, streams, and wildlife behind the house and in our own home towns and states. But our actions and voices should not stop there. We should always be cautious of our encroachment whether it is structural or temporal. There needs to be a balance with everything meaning that too much of anything is a bad thing not a good one. We should not always just allow those who want to expand in areas or build new facilities to do so. There will always be logging and there will be pollution and wars but we need to think that some of these things are inevitable but we need to think for every action we make we must think on how to clean up and right the wrongs after a war of logging a huge piece of wooded land or increasing the size of a farm. As we grow as a society we also need more food and water but we need to think first that wildlife was there first and so we should their well-being before our own selfish needs and considered the impact of them first. People should most definitely intervene and most people used to think years ago that most of oxygen came from the rainforest when this is not true at all. Between 70-80% of oxygen comes from marine algae not the rainforest. However, most of the world’s most vast ecosystems are in rain forests with the most exotic animals in it. Will this people should stand up and protest because there is no needs for...

...Capstone Checkpoint ETH/125 11/24/2011 Race and ethnicity in the United States has helped me relate to different minority groups because, I was taught the difference between the two terms very early in my life. Secondly, I have learned that there are some who become emotional or have deep-rooted beliefs when it comes to race and ethnicity, therefore be respectful, yet cautious when this subject surfaces. Most importantly, in order to receive race and ethnicity in the truest, purest form I must cancel any of my own biased feelings out and take a cultural approach. The importance of history was instilled in me at the tender age of five. I come from a family of historians; my roots have been traced back beyond the days of slavery. As a child I sat and listened to my ancestors talk about the generations of ancestors before them and some of these magnificent works. Knowing who I am and where I came from have played a major role in me being who I am; because I was I learned all about me at an early age, I have a great understanding of myself and most of those who I encounter in life. Immigration trends will certainly shape the face of our country’s future. According to documentations and readings for this class, and the Census Bureau in the year...

...Capstone Checkpoint Name Axia College of University of Phoenix Cultural Diversity ETH 125 Instructor September 16, 2010 Capstone Checkpoint This cultural diversity class has helped me to understand the social, cultural, and economic conditions that affect ethnic and racial groups in the U.S. Sometimes the fact that all citizens started as immigrants from other countries and faced similar struggles with assimilation is forgotten. The same struggles faced by the current influx of Hispanic Americans and other groups in America are the same social, cultural, and economic issues faced by previous ethnic and racial minority groups that are currently considered a staple of the U.S. population. My family is classified as part of the Japanese American cultural background; this was a particularly interesting learning area as it was something that I had never given much thought. I think the learning about the struggles my ancestors endured when they came to this country has helped me to view immigration and the treatment of immigrants much differently. The immigrant groups that are more prevalent today are part of America’s successful future and should be treated as such. Helping to make the average immigrant a contributing member of society through bilingual education and programs making the transition easier will benefit America as well as the immigrant. By the year 2050 America will continue to grow in racial and ethnic diversity, particularly with the...

...I feel that every person has their own responsibility in preserving the habits which are threatened by human encroachment. Humans are responsible for the endangerment and extinction of many species around the world. These species range from small insects to huge mammals. We destroy their natural habitats and force them to either adapt or die off. This occurs constantly in newly developed subdivisions and expanding cities. It is very likely to encounter wildlife searching for food or a place to live in these areas. The removal of trees in an environment will force wildlife to migrate to a different area in order to survive. This can change the natural balance of the ecosystem. Pollution is a very serious issue as well. It can cause an entire area to become uninhabitable and will kill any creatures that currently resign there. Everyone needs to play their own part and prevent this from occurring. Logging and construction companies need to be more aware of the animals living in these areas and implement measures to protect them. Pollution should never even be an issue. Companies need to dispose of their waste properly so it doesn’t affect the ecosystem negatively. Oil drilling isn’t going to stop any time soon unless a new fuel alternative presents itself in the near future. This is one instance where it is hard to balance both sides. The only thing these companies can really do is implement safety measures that will help prevent oil spills that pollute the environment. After...

Xcom285 Week 9 Capstone Checkpoint

...Capstone Checkpoint – Reflection Each week in this course I was taught different techniques in how to communicate in business writing. I learned how to apply these techniques to different scenarios in a business career and for my future courses. Businesses have used technology as a form of communication for some time now. Techniques today have made communication a lot simpler than and just as effective as the original technique type of a face to face meeting. There may now be several technical types to communicate a business transaction or a client proposal, but the important key is to know how to communicate through a writing process. My most important lesson in this course was to understand how to recognize the audience you are to communicate to and to know the process it takes to write, present, or inform the client or a colleague. Planning, brainstorming, gathering information, organizing, and evaluating your writing are the first steps of the process I can use in my business career and in future courses. The next steps are getting feedback and being able to revise, edit, and do a final proof read. Using this process will allow me to create essays or a presentation that will serve as an effective way to communicate my thoughts on a subject. Business writing comes in various formats such as email and Power Point presentations. Understanding the appropriate email etiquette will benefit me in the work place. Writing emails to clients must always be professional...

Mgt 210 Week Nine Capstone Checkpoint

...Capstone: Week Nine Checkpoint By: Jessica Swann MGT/210 Ms. Tara Wells January 26th, 2012 In my opinion, to be an essential supervisor of a small, medium, or large company, you must possess certain traits or abilities. First, you must be organized in time management because this is an essential part of being a supervisor. You must be able to make necessary decisions and changes in order to keep your production running harmoniously. For example, you have an assembly line in which you have 20 employees inserting different components into desktop computers. Each person inserts 2 parts into the housing as it goes down the line and after the 20th person installs their components, the computer moves on to another line. Today you have 3 people on dayshift that call off work; which means you have to fill the three openings in order to keep production running. What do you do? Option #1 is to have 3 people from other departments come over and fill the spots except it leaves those departments short by one person. Now this is a feasible idea providing the other departments are not already short staffed. Also it will shutdown your production line until you find the people willing to switch. Option #2 would be to call a “temp service” for the fill in’s except it would take too long to get people in place and then you have to train them. Production will be cut by probably 75%. Not a feasible idea. Option #3 would be to have 3 people stay over 4 hours from the...

...The President's Proposal  Strengthen border security and infrastructure. - Strengthens and improves infrastructure at ports of entry, facilitates public-private partnerships aimed at increasing investment in foreign visitor processing, and continues supporting the use of technologies that help to secure the land and maritime borders of the United States.  Combat transnational crime. - Creates new criminal penalties dedicated to combating transnational criminal organizations that traffic in drugs, weapons, and money, and that smuggle people across the borders. It also expands the scope of current law to allow for the forfeiture of these organizations’ criminal tools and proceeds. Through this approach, we will bolster our efforts to deprive criminal enterprises, including those operating along the Southwest border, of their infrastructure and profits.  Improve partnerships with border communities and law enforcement. - Expands our ability to work with our cross-border law enforcement partners. Community trust and cooperation are key to effective law enforcement. To this end, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will establish border community liaisons along the Southern and Northern borders to improve communication and collaboration with border communities, boost funding to tribal government partners to reduce illegal activity on tribal lands, and strengthen training on civil rights and civil liberties for DHS immigration officers.  Crack down on criminal networks...
