Capstone Nursing Shortages
The nursing shortage issue has been a problem for some time and is projected to only get worse. There are many contributors that have been associated with the shortages that need to be addressed. As a leader in the nursing profession, one must implement a change to not only increase the nursing population, but provide more efficient care that will benefit the patient. The nursing shortage applies to the QSEN competency of safety (Case Western Reserve University, 2014). With staff shortages, patient safety is jeopardized, and medical errors increase.
