With the merger of EnviroTech and InterClean complete, it is time to develop a plan for our organization to grow. At InterClean, we are committed to developing the most successful sales team in order to satisfy our customer needs, so a plan for training and mentoring these sales reps is a necessity. The workforce demands each company to change and respond to new developments as they come about, whether internal or external. The changes allow the employees to adapt to these changes as they are integrated with our products (such as the training on the products in the healthcare industry). With this said, there is a need to share the mission and vision the CEO has for the company which will put us at the forefront of all those other companies providing similar cleaning solutions. The motivation is to not only ‘sell you’ but also build a confident and lasting client relationships. Competency models were used to identify variables (knowledge skills), related to the overall organizational fit and to indentify personality characteristics (motivation, attitude) consistent with the organizational vision (Cascio, 2006). We must incorporate training and mentoring programs with a job analysis and job description for the new sales (of seven highly qualified individuals) team so there will not be too many questions about the duties they are required to do. ...My Career Plan I have always wanted to work in the medical field; however, as I went to different open houses, school requirements and reviewed all I that was needed, I thought it was not possible. After doing the career assessments, it pretty much confirmed most of my career choices. My initial career choice was to be a Physical Therapist, a Lawyer, and then a Nurse, and finally a Teacher. I am still kind of undecided but the one thing I am sure about is I want to work from home. I currently work and go to school from home; it works for me especially with having two small children. ...2014 Career Interests and Profiler The results of my Career Plan are beyond ridiculous. After completing this necessary step in my continuing education, I took the tests with great hope and interest as to what results it would come up with for me. To state that I was disappointed is an understatement. As you, the reader of this paper, do not know me personally, you do not know my life experiences, what I have been taught or what I have learned from my teachers, mentors, coaches, and most importantly my father. Neither does the Career Plan test. Therefore, the results should be based on my answers, which would be derived from my own personal learning and experiences. Based on this, I would have thought that the Career Plan would have made choices based on my 51 years of life. It did not. I have always enjoyed working with my hands. My father was an electrician. He was also very talented with other trades, such as pipe fitting, plumbing, and just about everything related to manual labor. To say that he taught me a lot is an understatement. I learned how to fill fire extinguishers at the age of 8. I also learned basic electrical wiring and was able to do complex motor control by the time I was 18. I have a huge interest in history as well as government and cultures from around the world. One of the recommendations that arose from the career plan was teacher; something I have been doing for over 15 years now except not in an official capacity. My teaching career first started soon after acquiring the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Army. I enjoyed the research and pulling together all the learning aids needed to make the teaching more in depth and engaging. Shortly after that my wife and I introduced our first child into the world.
