I feel as though the information that I received by doing the Career Interest Profiler will help me with my future planning, by allowing me to analyze things that best fit what the profiler has suggested for me. The profiles showed me that things that I would never have pictured myself being involved with previously are obtainable goals now. It also allows me to see things that although I didn’t think I was a good fit for before, I now know that I am and would be more willing to pursue those options moving forward in my development. I will think more clearly about the position and choices that are put before me so that I can use the skills that I have and am obtaining to highlight myself in a particular area of interest. Rather it is with my current employer or for a new industry or field of interest.
The Competencies that were revealed to me in the assessment also helps me in my future of decision making by allowing to know what areas I should most apply myself in. Many times it is asked, “what do you prefer to work on in this project?” and many times I didn’t have any answer, now I am able to identify my qualities and move in the direction that best suit my abilities to perform at the expected level. Knowing my competencies also helps me to confirm with others what I am “sure” I am capable of handling. Being able to approach the situation with my best foot forward will show an employer or potential client that I am very competent to handle the situation. While working on a particular task, I would feel more confident in the process so that allowing others to feel more comfortable knowing that I am handling something that I am not confused by.

...Competencies and Career Interests Profiler Understanding your personal competencies can help improve your critical thinking skills in a number of ways. By understanding what your abilities are you are able to utilize your critical thinking skills. For example, some companies expect their employees to reach a certain level of competency at the end of their training. This is because developing or capitalizing on your core competencies entails learning and thoroughly understanding the job at hand. Based on my career aptitude test, my results show that scheduling; material recording and law would be a good fit for me. I am an efficient communicator, detail oriented and I take the time to research what I am doing. Because of these inclinations/competencies, I can have a more profound understanding of what I am doing in contrast to someone who may not be good at these things. It is said that capitalizing your strengths is more important than working on your weaknesses. Knowing your competencies can help you evaluate arguments through understanding every aspect of what you are doing. Competencies and Career Interest Profiler

...Competencies and Career Interest Profiler Completing the competencies for this assignment I learned that my top three competencies are adapting to change, cooperating, and adhering to values. My two lowest competencies were strategizing and organizing. Knowing theses personal competencies is important to the way that I can improve my critical thinking skills because it gives me a base outline of the areas that I should be attentive to. For example, one of my strengths is adapting to change. I feel that it is important for people to remain open minded when looking at a subject critically. Many arguments can be made for something that are good valid agreements, but if someone is close-minded then there would be a lot at loss for both sides of the argument. My second strength was cooperating. Being able to cooperate in a group is important. Respecting the views of others allows there to be a foundation on which each member will be able to speak freely of their views. Even though there are members of the team that may disagree with other’s opinion, it is important to respect their own opinions. This will help lead the team to more powerful debate when both sides are able to speak feely of the views and opinions. Looking at the lowest compentcies ratings, strategizing was one that surprised me the most and definitely one that I feel is very important when improving critical thinking skills. When setting up an argument, there must be a strategy. Taking resources, data, and facts...

Career matches would be something in an artistic, media, or social scene, where being persuasive, strategizing, and adhere to values will benefit having to recognize one of the most common mistakes, which is the reasoning. Believing in the person making the claim or believing the actual claim. There is some detective work involved, if there is a party of interest that will make a profit by spreading inconsistent information, it can involve risk taking but doing the research and finding a reliable source will make better critical decisions. Career competencies can help evaluate arguments by applying expertise theoretically and practical to distinguish from someone that is exaggerating the truth and trying to persuade them to accept they claim they are making without any relevant facts. Taking initiative and being responsible for one’s own actions, making clear and quick decision, doing the research to find the facts and not taking another’s word for it. The person may sound intelligent and their body and facial language plays a big part in persuading a person on to their side, as they mentioned in Chapter 5 euphemisms...
