Introduction to the disease process:
According to "Center For Disease Control And Prevention" (2012), “hypertension, also referred to as high blood pressure, when the force of blood against your artery walls is out of the normal range” (High Blood Pressure Facts). A healthy blood pressure reading is lower than 120/80mmHg and pre-hypertension is between 120/80mm Hg and 139/89mmHg. Stage 1 hypertension is between 140/90mm Hg and 159/99mm Hg and stage 2 hypertension is a reading of 160/100mm Hg or higher. Blood pressure is recorded as two numbers the systolic pressure (the heart beats) over the diastolic pressure (as the heart relaxes.) Risk factors for cardiovascular diseases including hypertension include: increasing age, male, race (African Americans, Hispanics), diabetes, family history, high sodium diet, obesity, physical inactivity, alcohol and tobacco use. The extra pressure to the walls of the arteries from the high blood pressure can damage the arteries and organs. This risk of damage is increased the longer the pressure remains at an elevated level. This damage causes the arteries to thicken and harden increasing the risk of a heart attack, stroke congestive heart failure, and kidney failure. Larry has the risk factors that include being a middle-aged male Hispanic adult with a family history of hypertension. He is also 12 pounds above his ideal weight and has poor diet and exercise due to the many stressors...

...for Larry Garcia Hypertension Case Study Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, affects about 8.1 million Americans, and is one of the leading causes of cardiovascular disease. High blood pressure is dangerous, as it increases the risk for heart attacks and stroke, which is the number one cause of death in the United States. There are typically no warning signs or symptoms associated with high blood pressure. Unfortunately, it is a life time disease once it occurs. Hypertension has multiple risk factors associated with it; middle age men have a higher risk than women, a family history of hypertension, being overweight, not being physically active, tobacco and alcohol use increases ones risk, as well as high levels of stress (Matteucci, Caple, & Pravikoff, 2011). His risk factors include; being slightly overweight, does not exercise regularly, and his mother has hypertension that is not medically controlled. Larry is married and has four children. He supports his elderly mother and father financially, and his wife provides transportation to appointments and shopping for them. Larry has a high pressure position as a sales representative, which has been his career for 10 years. ...ASSESSMENT 3: Evaluation of business case Introduction and Summary of case study This passage tells about Holden which is a foreign-owned car manufacturer wants to exit the car manufacturing in Australia in 2013, but Toyota thinks it will give them pressure on local supplier network and their ability to make cars. Toyota was founded in 1958, and among 20 years, it expanded to export. In the next 5 years, it merged as the market leader. Although Toyota has a long history of production and broadly business scope with a good business system, to some extent, it is influenced by the external environment which include the customers demand, market structure, adverse currency development and other development. It uses three strategies so as to follow the balanced model. The model is good, but for the constraint from domestic demand, the company uses the export strategy from New Zealand to Thailand. Moreover, customers’ preference to the type of cars changes which is unfortunately counters to Toyota’s; the small scale of production results in high level of cost; the high tariff rates make it difficult export cars, also high exchange rate of exporting are the key adverse environment. These factors make Toyota feel competitive. In order to operate successfully, Toyota began to counter those developments. It practise improvement in productivity and reduction in cost by adopting both internal and external cost-reduction strategies, such as reduce the production and labour cost, but...

...Transcultural Nursing Theory Applied Vulnerable Populations I "Nowhere are the divisions of race, ethnicity and culture more sharply drawn that in the health of the people in the United States. Despite recent progress in overall national health, there are continuing disparities in the incidence of illness and death among African Americans, Latino/Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, Alaskan Natives and Pacific Islanders as compared with the US population as a whole." --National Center for Cultural Competence Population addressed Population addressed In 1950, U.S.-born whites made up about 90 percent of the U.S. population. By 2000, this number declined to about 75 percent, and by 2050 non-Hispanic whites will be in the numerical minority (U.S. Census Bureau 2001, 2002). Be sure to cite the authority for any research included in your response. What were the changes in AtekPC’s business environment that caused the company to introduce a PMO? Based on your assigned readings and research, do these appear to be appropriate reasons for developing a PMO? Why or why not? “One might be cost reduction. Another motivation to get better on projects would be that we have to get more creative, adaptive, and agile in launching new products. “ [1] “The PC industry was changing, and AtekPC was engaged in dealing with dramatic pressure from larger competitors such as HP, Dell, and Lenovo. To compete in a changing industry in which consolidation was occurring, AtekPC had implemented a corporate Planning Office. Recognizing the role that IT would likely play in enabling AtekPC to respond to the industry pressures, the senior vice-president had supported the creation of a PMO within IT. “ [1] Somewhat true but not sufficient Here are some other reasons of why we should have PMO. (of course it cannot represent everything) In mature organizations, the PMO......

Misrepresentation of African American Students

...The Misrepresentation of African American Students in Special Education Programs SOCI 2301 Research Proposal Introduction In the American education system, there is a steady increase in the number of Black students that are placed in special education programs. Black children are primarily labeled with either being Educable Mentally Retarded (EMR), or having a Behavioral Disorder (BD) (Kunjufu, 1995). This is a concern because statistics show that even though African American children only constitute 17 percent of all students, they compromise 41 percent of all special education placements, and out of the 41 percent of black children that are placed in special education programs, 85 percent are boys (National Research Council, 1999). These statistics are not only alarming, but it has also been recognized that African American students, particularly black males, are either misdiagnosed or misplaced into special education programs. This is a noted and ongoing problem within the public school system, and it is a problem that is raising many questions. For instance, why are black children disproportionately labeled? Why are black boys labeled EMR and BD more than girls? Do these labels adversely affect their self-esteem? Is there a difference between these statistics and the lack of black male teachers in the school system? Are there differences between black and white female teachers as they relate to black male......
