APEC- The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific. APEC's 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and secure growth and by accelerating regional economic integration.
GLOBALIZATION- The worldwide movement toward economic, financial, trade, and communications integration.
Globalization implies the opening of local and nationalistic perspectives to a broader outlook of an interconnected and interdependent world with free transfer of capital, goods, and services across national frontiers. However, it does not include unhindered movement of labor and, as suggested by some economists, may hurt smaller or fragile economies if applied indiscriminately.

ECONOMICS- Economics is the study of the production and consumption of goods and the transfer of wealth to produce and obtain those goods. Economics explains how people interact within markets to get what they want or accomplish certain goals. Since economics is a driving force of human interaction, studying it often reveals why people and governments behave in particular ways.

OPEN BORDERS- An open border is a border that enables free movement of people between different jurisdictions with limited or no restrictions on movement. A border may be an open border due to intentional legislation allowing free movement of people across the border, or a border may be an open border due to lack of adequate enforcement or adequate supervision of the border.

GOVERNMENT- A group of people that governs a community or unit. It sets and administers public policy and exercises executive, political and sovereign power through customs, institutions, and laws within a state. A government can be classified into many types--democracy, republic, monarchy, aristocracy, and dictatorship are just a few.

COMPETITION- the act or process of trying to get or win something (such as a prize or a higher level of success) that someone else is also trying to get or win : the act or process of competing
: actions that are done by people, companies, etc., that are competing against each other the competition : a person or group that you are trying to succeed against : a person or group that you are competing with

What skills and values did you demonstrate while doing PBL? Cite Examples.

When I heard the PBL first time, my mind says that “what it is?” I don’t even know what the meaning of PBL is or maybe I forget it. To introduce what PBL here’s the history of it, Problem-Based Learning or PBL is an instructional strategy that allows students to learn to how to learn through collaboration and working cooperatively in groups. Problem-Based learning was first introduced in the medical field. Problem-based learning also helps students learn and gain knowledge through the process of deciphering solutions to a given problem. The learning occurs through contextualized real –world problems that students are supposed to work through. The problems should be able to simulate as closely as possible a real-life situation.

In the activity that we had a few days ago, we have an assignment or task to research on, and this is all about APEC. APEC and I don’t know what this is too, I just heard this in the news and saw it in the newspapers, but I’m not reading it even listening to this so I don’t have any idea what will I do, and what are the things we need to do. So at the first meeting we had an activity to create our own concept map, and luckily our facilitator teaches us how to do It., so I get it. And this helps me a lot about APEC and what are things we need to do as a student/graduating student.

The key to problem-based learning is working and collaborating in groups. This strategy enables us to learn how to collaborate yet as the same time be able to make meaning independently and be able to communicate in order to gain consensus on a proposed solution. We had a meeting about our topic and all the members are participating and listening to the discussion, they are also giving there insights about the topic that we have to present.

The values that I did during the session are to listen carefully to the facilitator so I could understand more the things that we have to do, I also being responsible for the questions that assign to me specially not to be late in our class, and lastly being able to communicate to my co members we don’t need to be shy this time because we all know that our grade is depends on this study.

To end this reflection, we are now able to know the real problems of our society, and especially we are able to solve it using this method. And now I already know what PBL is, what are the things I need to do in PBL. Thanks to our facilitator!
