The case primarily introduces a performance reviews project in Space Engineering Services, which was to design and implement a performance management process, looking at measuring and monitoring performance through an appraisal.
Space Engineering Services is a refrigeration engineering company. Within the engineering industry, the customer typically draws up contracts for between one and two years, in order to decrease the risk on service delivery.
