Service Lines

...A1. Risk Factors Trinity conducted a community health needs assessment in which the following demands were identified: Oncology Services, Orthopedic Services and Cardiovascular Services. These targeted demands are mainly in part due to an aging community population (15% of the population will be over 65 within the next five years), and with that these particular services are in great demand and currently Trinity Hospital offers no formal services of this kind. A Strategic plan is in place to target these services and a recommendation to implement will be provided and we will first identify the risk factors for each of these services in the community and how the needs are being addressed at the current time in the Trinity community. Oncology Services- There are several risk factors affecting the community if cancer treatment isn’t addressed in an appropriate manner. New cancer cases are expected to grow at a 34% rate in the next five years and currently the facilities and equipment to diagnose and treat patients is not able to keep up with the growth of cancer patient volume and physicians and nurses say that the available services are disorganized and poorly put together. This is a visible risk to the community and Trinity Hospital if the surrounding community cannot depend on the hospital to adequately diagnose and treat their illness. Another risk factor is the need for cancer prevention and educational programs focusing on lifestyle changes to emphasize healthy living...

Woman Is Fickle: a Modern Comparison

...Woman is Fickle: A Modern Comparison By Jonathon Davis Dr. Michael J. Pendowski Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama November 13th, 2010 Verdi’s “La donna è mobile,” translated into “Woman is fickle”, puts onto display many popular key musical elements of the 19th century that are still very much alive in today’s modern music. Giuseppe Verdi utilizes several trends in music of the day to create the masterpiece that we still recognize today, despite the immense time gap. The piece is written about a woman whose mind constantly changes direction and leaves her admirers constantly pursuing in vain. Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) was an Italian world class composer of operas during the height of the Romantic period. This piece is widely considered his most notable work, but considering all of his great operas still performed to this day, to place anything as his “most notable” would be an understatement. His career took off with Nabucco, which he wrote after the death of his children and wife, and was able to write masterpiece after masterpiece, even into his twilight years. Verdi died with twenty-eight operas on his resume, many of which are still performed today. Most of Verdi’s inspiration came from the works of Shakespeare, with the opera Macbeth as an example. Verdi also incorporated political messages into his operas, as Italy was leaving Austrian Hapsburg rule at the time. A chorus of Nabucco is still considered an Italian patriotic theme. The opera that this piece...

Cardiac

...Cardiac Catheterization Paper 11/17/2011 1) Describe the procedure of cardiac catheterization: Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) is a specialized study of the heart during which a catheter, or thin hollow flexible tube, is inserted into the artery of the groin or arm. Under x-ray visualization, the tip of the catheter is guided to the heart. Pressures are measured and an x-ray Angiogram (Angio) movie of the heart and blood vessels are obtained while injecting an iodinated colorless "dye" or contrast material through the catheter. Coronary angios are obtained by injecting the contrast material into the opening or mouth of a coronary artery. The iodinated solution blocks the passage of x-rays. X-ray movie pictures taken during the injection of the contrast material allow the coronary arteries to be visualized. In other words, coronary arteries are not visible on x-ray film. However, they can be made temporarily visible by filling the coronary artery with a contrast solution that blocks x-ray. (Heartsite) 2) Discuss the rationale for catheterization. Cardiac catheterization allows the doctor to see the heart as it pumps blood. He is able to view the expansion and contraction of the chambers of the heart; the opening and closing of the heart valves; and the flow of blood through the coronary arteries. As compared to other diagnostic tests, cardiac catheterization provides more accurate and detailed information. This is...

Tweet Ni Florante

Service Line Development Task 2

...When analyzing the community health assessment several risks and weakness are identified. There are a few risks and weakness with the current state of Oncology Services. With physicians practices already at capacity there is no room to handle the current and future demand for these services. With an aging population new cancer cases are expected to increase by 34 % in five years. Higher smoking rates also contribute to new cancer diagnosis. Another risk is the equipment to diagnose and treat cancer is not keeping up with patient volume. This could be due to antiquated equipment that takes longer to scan patients therefore delaying results and sometimes requiring additional scanning. Additionally, poorly coordination of services by the staff is a risk factor. When test are not schedule timely it could be detrimental to the patient. A timely diagnosis could be the difference between life and death. Also, at Trinity there is little emphasis on cancer prevention and control is yet another risk. Early diagnosis leads to a more positive outcome. In addition, the sporadic use of educational programs focused on healthy living is a risk factor. Once people learn better they tend to do better. Knowledge is power. There are also some risks associated with current condition of Orthopedic Services. The main risk is the lack of physicians. With orthopedic cases expecting to increase by 46% and outpatient joint and spine procedures increasing by 350%, recruitment is top priority...
