The Kilkenny Kids Invasion at Kilkenny

Josh and his family moved to the coast, not just any coast! They moved miles away from everything to a place called Kilkenny. There were no neighbors. There were no stores. There was really nothing...or so they thought.-Illustration 1 Josh and his older brother Hunter spent days exploring their new home. It was an old plantation, filled with mystery. The big old house was huge! Inside you could see where cannonballs had crashed through the walls over a hundred years ago! The boys wondered through the woods surrounding their new home. As they ran outside on a warm Spring morning, they noticed turtles. There were big turtles everywhere! They hadn't seen any turtles before-not in the woods, not by the river, and certainly not in the house! Where did they all come from? Why were they here?-Illustration 3 The boys had so many questions. As they walked to the creek, they had to walk carefully, so not to step on a turtle. They were everywhere! At the creek they saw turtles climbing up the bank and others crawling back down the bank and swimming away! The brothers were excited, but confused. What was going on? Illustration 4 As the days went by, they saw fewer and fewer turtles. Life was back to normal- running, playing, riding bikes and just being boys! As the weather warmed Josh and Hunter spent more time at the creek. One day they noticed tiny creatures crawling to the creek and toppling in! Excited, they ran to investigate and much to their delight, they discovered TURTLES!!! Little tiny turtles finding their way to the creek, one after another and swimming away! Illustration
