When someone tries to get to know a person, they tend to observe said person’s friends. Because often times, the people who surround them alter their personality or conduct. In Caucasia by Danzy Senna, the reader follows Birdie Lee on her journey of finding her true identity. Secondary characters throughout the novel influence her decisions, and ultimately help her realize who she wants to be.
