| |call the business and have beer, and wine delivered to your home in a timely manner.|
| |The business would adhere to the same policy as a bar tender would if serving |

The Mining Group Gold process is a team process and meeting management process whose sole purpose is to leverage the combined wisdom, experience, and ideas of everyone on the team in order to cash in on this wisdom to improve the overall meeting process and to improve the decisions of the organizational unit. Kayser’s steps to Mining Group Gold are to (a) establish a purpose for the meeting; (b) set the outcomes that the group wishes to achieve from the meeting; (c) assign the roles of facilitator, scribe, and timekeeper; (d) set an agenda for the meeting; and (e) perform periodic time checks during the session to keep the group on track and on task. At War with the Paparazzi

...At War with the Paparazzi Benjamin Biwer 4320316 JOUR3745 (Section 001) “I can’t go to war with paparazzi” (Craig). This statement, made by Daniel Craig, unintentionally (and unknowingly) references the power struggle between celebrity spin machines and the paparazzi. In his piece, “On the Function of the United States Paparazzi: Mosquito Swarm or Watchdogs of Celebrity Image, Control, and Power”, Andrew Mendelson analyzes the function of paparazzi and the role these popular culture fixtures have on society and celebrity. Specifically, Mendelson examines the “war” between highly controlled celebrity images and candid, raw offerings provided by the paparazzi. While an argument can, and should, be made regarding privacy issues, pictures obtained by paparazzi provide a necessary checks-and-balances system to the cunning world of celebrity and entertainment (Mendelson). To this end, Mendelson’s argument that journalists (i.e. the paparazzi) should “look more deeply” into celebrities and popular culture events is completely valid. This paper will provide arguments that support Mendelson’s view of the paparazzi – first, by exploring the issues presented by celebrity-controlled personas; and second, by reinforcing the need for fact checking, as exists in political and professional realms. Mendelson provides a thought-provoking piece that challenges conventional wisdom on the paparazzi (i.e. privacy and boundary issues). The most poignant of his arguments describes the tactics the...

Workplace Violence

...Workplace violence is present in every nook and cranny of corporate America, affecting millions of Americans every year. Workplace violence is defined by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, OSHA, as any act or threat of physical violence, harassment, intimidation, or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at the work site. It ranges from threats and verbal abuse to physical assaults and even homicide. In 2011, there were over 2 two million reports and claims of workplace violence, with 458 being homicides1. Workplace violence is at the forefront of everyone’s mind when a breaking news story is broadcast on the evening news, such as the recent shootings in Santa Cruz, California by a disgruntled ex-cop, and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, but workplace violence can strike anywhere and at any time, and is a major concern for employers and employees across America. There are different types of workplace violence, which can be categorized as follows: (1)violence by outsiders or nonemployees, usually in the attempt of a crime, such as robbery or shoplifting, (2)violence by a customer or a client, such as a student or a patient, (3)violence by employees and former employees, and (4)violence by domestic partners, such as boyfriends/girlfriends and husbands/wives. Such categorization can help in coming up with ways to prevent workplace violence since each type of violence requires a different approach to prevention, and...

Leadership Style of Ricardo Semler

...Adejumoke Olaniyan DR Kolawole Sonaike Healthcare Leadership and Management (HCM618 -1601 -HDFSN) February 6 2016 Discussion Questions 1. Evaluate this situation from the view point of David Edmondson’s ethical leadership. What could Radio Shack have done differently? In this world some people crave money and power. To benefit these two things always, people choose the wrong paths. David Edmondson is one of them, because he cheated on his resume. David Edmondson is a fraud that means he is not an ethical leader at all. Because of Edmondson’s cheating his company RadioShack faced losses, so he didn’t do ethical leadership in his workplace. If a manager cheats, lies, steals, manipulates, take advantages of situations, or treat others unfairly that is not an ethical behavior. That is called unethical behavior. We can see lying on David Edmondson’s case, so we can say that he didn’t behave as an ethical leader. According to the text, “Ethical leadership is known as our core values and having the courage to live them in all parts of our life in service of the common good.” Before entering to a company a manager should know what is ethical leadership. If a manager doesn’t know what ethical leadership is, then he/she will never fulfill their job properly. If a manager doesn’t have knowledge about ethical leadership, then he will do unethical things in a company. Also, unethical leadership can create many problems, such as ethical lapses...

Essay on Key Topic on Organizational Behavior

...Essay on Key Topic on Organizational Behavior MBA 545 People and Systemructor Essay on Key Topic on Organizational Behavior November 11, 2010 The topic I am going to analyze in my Essay on Key Topic on Organizational Behavior assignment is Leadership. Starting with its definition, leadership is the organization of a group of people, so as to achieve a number of specific goals that the group and mostly the leader set. More specifically, a leader is considered to be somebody, who creates and communicates a vision, provides his “followers” with guidance and motivation, in order to achieve certain targets, influences others through his use of power, establishes and maintains group culture, clarifies roles and empowers the members of his group, and of course, has the ability to make tough decisions with limited information. Being a leader is totally different comparing to being a manager of a group of people. Being a leader, as already mentioned, means giving motivation, influencing and changing the behavior of people, when necessary, inspiring and creating a vision for the group of people...

Market Structures and Maximizing Profit

...Market Structures and Maximizing Profits /XECO/212 Principals of Economic In this paper I will discuss competitive markets, monopolies, and oligopolies and what role each of these plays in an economy? I will also point out: o What the characteristics of each market structure is? o How the price is determined in each market structure in terms of maximizing profits? o How output is determined in each market structure in terms of maximizing profits? o What are the barriers to entry, if any? o What role does each market structure play in the economy? First I would like to discuss what a competitive market is. This market has a large number of buyers and sellers, such that no single buyer or seller is able to influence the price or control any other aspect of the market. That is, none of the participants have significant market control. A competitive market achieves efficiency in the allocation of scarce resources if no other market failures are present (AmosWeb). Usually the competitive market does very well because demand price and supply are price equal. The demand and supply prices cannot generate any greater satisfaction by producing more of one good and less of another (AmosWeb). People want good products and they want what they pay for. I would be willing to spend hundreds on hair supplies as long as the products are good. If a product does not really provide the satisfaction you are looking for then you want to pay little or nothing for it right...

Many other top level executives are doing the same! I have identified several recommendations that align with internal control principles and would like for you to consider them as you move forth. Your accountant will need to become cognizant of his responsibility to make all matters regarding your organization’s financial matters transparent. Also, the paired responsibilities of purchasing and paying, receiving and reconciling checks, and being treasurer and controller are contradictive of the spirit embodied by SOX legislation. When Edwin Sutherland first began his study/analysis under the Traditional Summary Reporting System, there was a limited amount of information available on White Color Crime. The white-collar offenses that are measured are fraud, forgery/counterfeiting, embezzlement, and all other offenses. Because white-collar crimes are not Index crimes, the only information available on these offenses is arrest information, which includes age, sex, and race of the arrestee. Additionally, all other offenses arrest category is very limited in its ability to measure the white-collar offenses included in its counts. This is due to the inability to differentiate the white-collar offenses from the others that also fall in this category. Based upon the most recently published data from the FBI, the arrest rates for the offenses of embezzlement, fraud, and forgery/counterfeiting are much lower than the arrest rates for property, crime, or for total crimes in general....
