Qualitative data: The Cheetos Puffs burn spread throughout the entire snack-food, while the Lays Potato Chip was very slow. The Lays Potato Chip released much more pungent odor when burned than the other foods.

Processed Data The calculation used to determine, using the raw data, the calories per gram in each of the trials is: q = [(mass of water in grams)(specific heat of water)(Change in temperature in Celsius)]/1000 then divide that by grams of snack food lost. Graph 1: Determined Average Cal/gram Versus Saturated Fat Content per gram The best fit model for this set of data is done by testing the correlation coefficient on a Graphing calculator for a linear model, an exponential model, and a quadratic model and using the one with the strongest correlation. The quadratic model has a correlation coefficient of -0.9644 which was the strongest, thus the tread line is quadratic model comparing the saturated fat content to Calories per gram.
Also, uncertainty bars are attached to each point to represent the ±0.02 for the determined average Calories per gram.

I started to think about how I wanted to calorimetry because before we deduced the heat capacity of a calorimeter, but I wanted to think independently and complete a different experiment. I read about a type of calorimetry called soda can calorimetry which seemed enjoyable and fit under the topic of calorimetry in the syllabus. When in the lab I did discover the issue with matches and the setup of my experiment. Primarily, the foods in this paper caught fire quickly, but some of the foods I tried didn't work. I tried fruits like dates and apple, but fruit contains too much water to burn. I tried fatty snack like nuts, neither the peanut nor the hazelnuts caught fire before the match burned out. Even certain carbohydrate-heavy snacks like crackers- I tried filled crackers, Ritz crackers, and Saltines- did not ignite quick
