The Cherokee stated their case with deep-seated feelings. The Cherokee strongly believed that if they moved away from Mississippi that the Native Americans would move. The Cherokee believed this because they knew that the Native’s were not able to settle on new ground or to get to Oklahoma if they moved. Also, the Cherokee thought that Georgia should not have opressed these laws because Georgia had not power of moving out the Cherokee. Moreover, the Cherokee felt very strongly about moving because the Cherokee wanted to continue to live on the land of their fathers who have passed or their mothers.
