Fan Shroud Research Paper

...http://hhclassic.com/i-13702734-fan-shroud.html During the second generation of the Chevrolet Chevelle, GM made some design changes that gave it a longer hood and shorter deck for a sleeker body. In 1969, the Chevelle was heralded as the most popular mid-sized car in American. These cars are still as popular now as they were then, and the audience is about the same; it is those who love power who still drive and restore these cars. When you restore your Chevelle, then replace worn out parts like the fan shroud. H&H Classic carries restoration parts for your Chevelle, Malibu or El Camino. The fan shroud protects the fan from flying debris and protects you from whirling fan blades when you have the hood open. This part can become damaged...

Gm Case

...Buick in 1903 after which he assembled the company that became GM. He incorporated GM in September 16, 1908. Durant included Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and Pontiac into the family within a few years after the incorporation. His fast pace of acquisition wore out GM’s bankers and Durant stepped down in 1910 as the president of GM. Durant together with Louis Chevrolet, a racecar drive, created a new brand of cars to challenge the Ford Model T. By 1916, Durant had acquired a lot of GM stock that enabled him take control of the company once again. In 1920 during a sharp recession that forced GM to rethink its business, Durant stepped down once again. (Author Unknown) In the process of creating a new post-Durant company, GM also created the archetype for the modern corporation. Alfred Sloan set up policy committees and staffs to coordinate GM’s different divisions; a strategy that he called “decentralized operations and responsibilities with coordinated control.” It was under Sloan’s leadership that GM organized divisions to provide “a car for every purse and purpose,” it allowed the customers to start with a lower-priced Chevrolet and then move up to a Cadillac if they could afford it. It was these strategies that swept GM past Ford for sales leadership, and it became one of the most successful companies in the world (Author Unknown). GM’s home success drove it to global expansion. GM bought U.K automaker Vauxhall in 1925. It bought Opel in 1929, Australia’s Holden in 1931. ...

...UNIT 1- CAR BODY DETAILS Cars can come in a large variety of different body styles. Some are still in production, while others are of historical interest only. These styles are largely (though not completely) independent of a car's classification in terms of price, size and intended broad market; the same car model might be available in multiple body styles (or model ranges). For some of the following terms, especially relating to four-wheel drive / SUV models and minivan / MPV models, the distinction between body style and classification is particularly narrow. Please note that while each body style has a historical and technical definition, in common usage such definitions are often blurred. Over time, the common usage of each term evolves. For example, people often call 4-passenger sport coupés a "sports car", while purists will insist that a sports car by definition is limited to two-place vehicles. Body work In automotive engineering, the bodywork of an automobile is the structure which protects: ⦁ The occupants ⦁ Any other payload ⦁ The mechanical components. In vehicles with a separate frame or chassis, the term bodywork is normally applied to only the non-structural panels, including doors and other movable panels, but it may also be used more generally to include the structural components which support the mechanical components. Construction There are three main types of automotive bodywork: ⦁ The first automobiles were designs...

...GM History - A Brief History The founding of General Motors on September 16, 1908, drew little attention. Motorcar firms were appearing virtually everywhere. Success for the young automotive concern was not predestined. There was no guarantee of a place in the market or assurance of any profit. Of the nearly 1,000 companies that tried to build and sell motor vehicles prior to 1927, less than 200 continued in business long enough to even offer a commercially suitable vehicle. Most of the companies that comprised the young General Motors Company were weak, and their operations were uncoordinated. Many were in debt. It was not until the 1920s, when a new concept of management was forged and a new concept of product emerged, that GM really began to prosper. General Motors sales for its first full fiscal year ending September 31, 1909, totaled 25,000 cars and trucks, 19 percent of total U.S. sales. Net sales totaled $29,030,000 and its payroll at the peak of the manufacturing season numbered more than 14,000 mostly in Michigan. In 1995, GM sold 8.3 million cars and trucks worldwide with net income of $6.9 billion and worldwide employment averaging 714,000 workers. General Motors has 284 operations in 35 states and 158 cities in the United States. In addition GM of Canada operates 21 locations, GM de Mexico operates 5 locations, and GM has assembly, manufacturing, distribution or warehousing operations in 49 other countries, including...
