Chief Joseph of Nez Perce surrendered when he knew that his tribe’s continuity was broken. This is how he realized how everything was finished “ I am tired of fighting. Our chief are killed; looking Glass is dead, Ta Hool Hool Shute is dead”. After the master died they felt fearful because they don’t know how to live without him. “I want to have time to look for my children, and see how many of them I can find”. He was one of the few survive however he felt guilty about the lost of his tribe. Then the Nez
Perce’s life is not going to be the same. This is what he felt after their continuity was broken, “My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands I will fight no more”, he felt this after saw his tribe was lost for the suppleness
