A company can only be as ethical as its employees, and Chipotle Mexican Grille, Inc. has always strived to show its ethics through integrity. Integrity is the state of being undivided or following a strong moral discipline continuously. Chipotle shows integrity through its value of the environment in addition to, its treatment of its employees, and clear communication, within and outside the company. By practicing its code of ethics, Chipotle has become successful and reputable as a business. Americans’ staple diet is anything unhealthy, fast, and cheap; Chipotle only changed the first quality in that staple. From organic non-GMO vegetables to free-range livestock for its meats, Chipotle understands that quality is not just about cost-value, it’s about good taste and healthy foods in addition to …show more content…
The strongest campaign for clear communication of Chipotle’s integrity is through two short films. The short film “Back to the Start” is about American farms reverting back from an industrial scale and practice to the smaller, more environmentally safe method of raising livestock. It depicts a stop-motion video of approximately two minutes of how a hog farmer reverts from CAFO practices to the healthier alternative of sustainable and family farming (Simpson 2015, p. 44). “Scarecrow” is the second short film which depicts a world of scarecrows who live an unsustainable life through the company “Crow Foods”, and as a result, a lone scarecrow searches for a better alternative (Simpson 2015, p. 44-45). In both shorts, Chipotle’s branding is subtle, and only the logo along with “Cultivate a better world” showing at the end (Simpson 2015, p. 44-45).
