The Basketball Court

Everyone has their own little spot to escape from the world to feel relief and relaxation. They often go there when they need peace and quiet, or to think about things. The place I got to do this is the basketball court. On the court I feel total relaxation and away from all of my worries. I step onto the hardwood numerous times a week in hopes of alleviating the stressors of life.
I love being on the court and having the sweat roll down my body letting me know that I’m putting forth effort to comfort my mind. The constant sound of the basketball bouncing off the floor gives my mind a beat to move my body to. After dribbling for a moment I step to the three point line and face my defender. Like a snake his hands strike in and out with speed as he try’s to steal the ball from me. I will not let it happen, for I must get past him to overcome my obstacles to ultimately clear my head.
As I stand there with the ball in hand I observe the court and everything on it. I see windows of opportunity and weak points as my teams move around causing the defense confusion. My defender stands tall and shows no sign of weakness as he stares into my eyes trying to guess my next move. With each second going by the clock slowly loses time as I prepare how I will attack the basket. The hoop hanging there from the ceiling looked so far out of reach, and yet I still stand there watching the ball go through the net over and over in my head. As time begins to run out I quickly leap as if I was on springs and I proceed with pushing the ball from my fingertips.
As I start my journey back towards the floor my skin begins to tingle from the sound of the crowd. The sounds of their feet make you believe you’re in the middle of a stampede, and then at that
