Our narrator so far is somebody who is a little shy, but she is getting to be very interesting. She is a slave who is owned by Clet Waller or more commonly known as “Old Waller”. Behind his back the slaves call him dog droppings and pig slop. She doesn’t like to talk very much, but she does pay attention to her surroundings and listens to what is being said around her. She was raised by a slave called old Delie who raises all the black slave children on the plantation because Old Waller doesn’t let the mom’s have the children because then they spend too much time taking care of them. I think she will end up being a person who gets caught or punished badly for making a little mistake and that will push all the slaves over the edge and they
