Marketing is an effective strategy that companies use to advertise services or goods. Patients of different age groups and generations have strategies that are more effective than another and reaching a target audience. By learning the target population and knowing what works best to reach that audience companies are able to narrow down their marketing strategy. Due to the diverse population and geographic locations companies have had to be creative in the services that they provide and how they can market this service so that people want to use it. Health services are provided in several ways such as web based clinics, walk in clinics, and retail clinics. These new types of services help the industry to reach out to all types of patients.
Direct dermatology is a web based clinic. Direct Dermatology is located inside a local grocery store. This type of setting allows patients to walk in to the clinic, have a photo taken of their skin condition and then their photos are uploaded into a data base where board certified dermatologists can treat patients without having an actual medical office. They treat the patient online. This type of clinic serves patients who are in a geographic location that lacks certain services. They are able to draw people in by the location, inside of a grocery store, in a community where dermatologists are needed. They can reach out to the general population because everyone needs to buy food and when they do, they see the clinic, or patients are referred by their primary physician. I think that the marketing could be better, by advertising more to the outside population such as a billboard sign or a local commercial on the radio; they would also be more likely to treat a wider range of patients. The only way this clinic advertises is by medical offices referring patients to the clinic and walk-ins that shop at the local grocery store.

Greek scientist joined the Hippocrates studies and did more research to find relationships and seek for the right treatment. Plato and Aristotle were among the scientists who formulated that some physical illness can result from the soul (Plante, 2005, P. 34). Unfortunately, during the Middle Ages many diseases were untreated because most mental issues were related to the soul and medical help was never seek. It was believe that insanity was just a lost soul in hell and that there was no cure for the individual. Elements of Clinical Psychology Paper

...Elements of Clinical Psychology Paper Leah Syberg PSY/480 October 5, 2015 Tara Thompson Introduction There are different approaches and disciplines in psychology (Plante, 2010). The different approaches have different understandings of how people develop cognitively, and how personality (including behavior) is formed. For example, some people can be treated sufficiently with pharmacology (medication), while others can benefit from a psychoanalytical approach to thinking and behavior (uncovering unconscious thoughts and feelings). In this way, each perspective and form of treatment has its own benefits. Clinical psychology, on the other hand, can use all perspectives and approaches (Plante, 2010). This is true because clinical psychology is an art- using all researches, methods, and approaches to define the problems a person can have. In addition to defining the problem, clinical psychology can offer different forms of treatment. For example, one person’s depression can be best treated with medication, and another person can benefit from cognitive-behavioral therapy. Also, people with multiple problems can benefit from the treatment of a clinical psychologist. This is true because the clinical psychologist can offer different forms of treatments for the many problems one person can face. This paper will discuss the field of clinical psychology, the history, research methods, and the differences in different fields of psychology. Clinical Psychology ...

...Running Header: Introduction to Psychological Testing Paper Introduction to Psychological Testing Paper Thomas Hagenbuch University of Phoenix PSY/475 When looking at the field of testing there are many assumptions and questions that are looked at. Clinical Psychology Week 1 Paper

...Examination of Clinical Psychology Lisa Brown PSY/480 April 6, 2015 William Philadelphia Examination of Clinical Psychology This paper will be providing an examination of clinical psychology. This examination will include discussing the history and evolving nature of clinical psychology, the role of research and statistics in clinical psychology, and the differences between clinical psychology and other mental health professions such as social work, psychiatry, and school psychology. History of Clinical Psychology The field of psychology was born in 1892 with the American Psychological Association being founded. Clinical psychology was born four years later, in 1896 with the first psychological clinic being opened at the University of Pennsylvania. Lightner Witmer opened this clinic and provided the ability to apply psychological philosophy to human illness (Reisman, 1991). Many of Witmer’s colleagues did not like the idea of using the science of psychology on real clinical problems. Even though Witmer’s thoughts and ideas were not well received at that time, he was still able to open the clinic and provide programs for children struggling with school-related issues (Plante, 2011). The development of tests to help explore the mental abilities in children grew with the Binet-Simon intelligence scale that was created for testing children in 1904. The scale was renamed Stanford-Binet in 1916 when a psychologist at Stanford University revised the scale...

Clinical Psychology Paper

...Clinical Psychology Paper The great evangelist D.T. Niles once said, “Christianity is just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread” (Niles, 2010). At its most basic level, clinical psychology is the enterprise of one educated, licensed person using their knowledge of human behavior to address, assuage, or otherwise moderate the troubles and concerns of another person’s life—whether they be relational, affective, or physiological. Strictly speaking, clinical psychology is, “the assessment, treatment, and understanding of psychological and behavioral problems and disorders” (Plante, 2005, p. 7). Clinical psychology is a scientific endeavor, utilizing the instrument of the scientific method to inform the practice, procedures, and treatments used to address human problems. There is an interplay that exists between treatment outcome research and psychotherapy in clinical psychology—the science informs the art and the art informs the science (Plante, 2005). The point of this paper is to catalogue and compare the history and evolving nature of clinical psychology as well as to consider the specific case of counseling within the framework of clinical psychology. History Hippocrates—the original author of the Hippocratic Oath—formed the first complete, if naïve, physiological explanation of disease and dysfunction (Plante, 2005). He proposed that imbalances in the mixture and quantity of four fluids: black bile, yellow bile, phlegm, and blood, caused several emotions...

In addition, this week the other intern and I had to find resources for a patient that had bed bugs. The health coach had a patient that was experiencing issues with bed bugs. ...writing. In fact, the three universities that I have attended in the past have all required me to use the APA style of writing. As I recall my high school years, the APA style of writing also seemed to be a favorite amongst my high school teachers. They all required that term papers be written in APA style as well. This type of writing actually does not differ much from the ones included in the text reading. The text mentioned the APA style of writing several times. In my opinion, it appears to be the most popular style of writing, especially amongst college students. Based on the results of the quizzes, my grammar skills were actually a little better than average. I actually had expected to do better, but I guess my grammar skills are not as good as I thought they were. In any event I feel very confident when it comes to spelling, as I have always been a great speller. Even in grade school, I was a good speller. I learned at a very young age to challenge myself when it comes to spelling. Challenging my-self in that area really paid off as I became older, as I’ve never had a problem with spelling. However, I feel that I need more help with run on sentences and with thought patterns. Though I proof read my paper several times, it’s hard for me to see that I have several run on sentences until after I get my grade back. In general, I feel that my writing is just mediocre. However, I also believe that when it comes to writing, I am my own worst critic. Reason being, I am never...

Because when write you want to make sure that your papers flows and that you stay on topic. Because you as a writer wants the people to understand what they are reading. Because your paper have to have so meaning to it and it have to have some clarity to. When I revise my papers it make me look at the things I done wrong. Like when I have misspelled words I can correct them and when I have sentences that don’t make sense and I take the out. When I write I make the mistake of writing a lot of write on sentences. I have to make sure that I don’t do that anymore. I have to make sure that I don’t forget the punctuations because I have the habit of not putting them where they belong and stuff.
