“One of the central tasks of theoretical business ethics is to provide a conceptual framework that will allow us to articulate more clearly the intuitive sense we all have that "nest-feathering" and similar forms of conduct are unethical, so that we can state with greater precision the nature of the moral obligations that have been violated.” Heath, J. (2009)

In approaching this task, I must clearly state that without any doubt, I agree Mr. John Anderson violated International Widgets’ Code of Ethics, he compromised the fiduciary relationship, and he should be punished. On more than one level Mr. Anderson violated the Ethics policy that he signed and agreed to.
International Widgets’ Code of Ethics clearly states: * “Confidentiality -We are committed to maintaining the highest degree of integrity in all our dealings with potential, current, and past clients, both in terms of normal commercial confidentiality and the protection of all personal information received in the course of providing the business services concerned. We extend the same standards to all our customers, suppliers, and associates.” Mr. Anderson gave personal contact, and business information to this competitor in clear violation. * “Ethics - We conduct business honestly and honorably and expect our clients and suppliers to do the same. We train our employees to be ethical and expect them to always act in the best interests of International Widgets.” By Acting in the best interest of International Widgets, Mr. Anderson would have chosen another route. Maybe going to his superiors or just saying “no” when he was approached. In addition he work on the road is inconsistent with the calculations of the work we see. His time spent and his expense reports seem to tally up to more than the work
