Try and close your eyes and imagine your daughter, Regan, being the smartest student in the whole school. Always getting straight A’s, does other clubs outside of school, a kind and nice person, etc. What if she applied for a college that was more than perfect for her and she got accepted? But, then you realize that there is no way you or your family could be able to pay for the college. Imagine, needing to tell your daughter, your sweet Regan, that she can’t go to the college of her dreams because of money. That would be gut wrenching to say. Not to mention she wouldn’t be able to become a veterinarian like she had always wanted to be. The saddest part of this is that this really does happen. Students can’t go to college because they simply can’t afford it. College education should be free to all. If this were to happen then college would be more affordable, when you just have to pay for dorms and little bills, there would be more jobs in the U.S, and students would have a …show more content…
Using a survey, six out of ten people agreed that college should be free in the United States. For example, one person said that “How much money your family has should not determine if you go to college or not. Most people who don't go to college can't afford it and it doesn't mean they're not smart. Because they don't go to college, it closes doors for them.” This person is pretty much saying that it is not fair that mainly people with more money are able to go to college, but not as much people that do not have a lot of money cannot go to college. Some people may say that students still will not attend because they can’t even pay for the dorms and food. Although that might be true, there are a lot people who cannot pay for all of college but they can still pay for dorms. If college was free, then more students would be able to

Once the writers are lucid about the technique of writing an essay and how to write an essay outline, the next step that they face up to is how to move toward a particular research paper topic. And what type of writing works best? Students often complain about a certain type of essay they have been assigned with. It seems to them that writing within essay type boundaries doesn’t allow them to think out the box, limits their potential. But writing a paper without any directions could be even more confusing than the class assignment you got. Do not think about the limitations as of the prison walls, but as of the walls in your room where you feel free to paint murals or change nothing whatsoever, simply being in control of it, being yourself. ...Project: Persuasive Research Paper 1 Final Project: Persuasive Research Paper Axia College of University of Phoenix Cliff Cook Final Project: Persuasive Research Paper Com 220 April 11, 2010 Final Project: Persuasive Research Paper 2 Illegal immigration is one of the most controversial issues in today’s society. It is a major topic in many political debates, and one cannot read a newspaper or watch the evening news without eventually coming across a story about it. With all of the commotion surrounding illegal immigration, it is no surprise that many American citizens are concerned about how much it will affect their lives. The exact impact of illegal immigration is impossible to measure due to the fact that the majority of illegal immigrants are undocumented. However, it is clear that it has both negative and positive impacts on the American workforce. Whether or not one past outweighs the other is a personal opinion, but the only way to make an informed decision is to know the facts from both sides of the argument. This research report will discuss both the negative and positive impacts that illegal immigration has on the American economy, but will begin by giving a brief background on illegal immigration. Research Paper

...Catalfano Writing Mode: Persuasive Research Due: Please upload your essay to turnitin.com by the assigned due date. Late papers will incur the typical 10% per day late grade deduction. Length: Between 700 and 850 words for College Prep students; between 850 and 1000 words for Honors students. Format: Typed, double-spaced, 10-point Times New Roman font. Grading: 60 points, graded according to the standard rubric. (Note: this paper will also require two or three “checkpoints,” each of which is worth 10 points.) Topic Selection: What do you care about? This is a persuasive research paper, which means you are taking a position on a contemporary issue that you care about and setting out to prove that your position is correct with strong, convincing sources. How many sources? * at least four sources for College Prep students * at least six sources for Honors students Of course, you need to set out to support an idea that is capable and worthy of being supported—not something completely obvious. Because one of the major course objectives is to write about what you believe in (as you find your writing voice), you will be allowed to choose your own topic for this persuasive research paper, so long as it is not a topic you have written about already for another class (remember: your intellectual and personal integrity should be important to you, so research something new to you, which is most of the “fun” of research). I must also approve your...
