A person is born a certain way but is molded to what his or her parents find best for them, only for some of these people do they rediscover what their true selves are later on in life. Parents may find their children heading in paths that scared them, so they sway their child towards what is more comforting to them. A person may find their selves thinking there is nothing wrong with eating meat, humans can live a long life this way as long as they are conscious of how to treat their bodies and take care of it both physically as well as mentally. Though a person may also find their true calling is vegetarianism, even though it may still scare some of the family members, many well say they knew sooner or later he or she would find their true nature once again. Drivers for Internationalisation

...EU MNEs Michele Cincera , Claudio Cozza , Alexander Tübke ∗,+ * * Draft for the 4th Annual Conference of GARNET Network, IFAD, Rome, 11-13 November 2009 11.11.2009 Abstract Based on an original and recent sample representative of the largest R&D corporations in the EU, this paper aims at investigating in a quantitative way the main factors explaining: (i) the decision of firms to increase their R&D investment effort in the near future; (ii) the main drivers explaining the favorite location choice for R&D; and (iii) the impact of direct and indirect policies to support R&D activities in the EU. Main findings suggest that competitive pressures from the US are the main determinants for increasing R&D investments. Public support to R&D and proximity to other activities of the company explain the decision to locate R&D in the home country while considerations on the cost of employing researchers appear also to matter for firms preferring a location outside their home country, in particular in China and India. Key words: R&D internationalisation; drivers; R&D policies; EU large R&D corporations JEL code: O33 1. Introduction In the last decade, theoretical (Dunning and Narula, 1995; Kuemmerle, 1997) and empirical studies (among the others: Kuemmerle, 1999; Kumar, 2001; Von Zedwitz and Gassmann, 2002) on the internationalization of R&D have highlighted a shift from the so-called home-base exploiting to the home-base augmenting R&D strategies. Within such framework, MNEs set R&D...

South China Seal Oil Dispute

...South China Sea Oil Dispute International Business Law – BUL 6850 South China Sea Oil Dispute Introduction The South China Sea dispute is a territorial wrangle among certain Asian countries. The rivalry dates back to the Sino-Japanese War of 1894 (Roberts & Buszynski, 2015). The interest by these countries is the suspected oil potential of the region and fishing grounds. China claims the majority of the area covering hundreds of miles east and south of its southern province of Hainan. Other countries involved in the dispute include Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei, all part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (See Appendix 1). The United States (U.S.) is an interested entity in the dispute based on the enormous number of commercial goods that pass through the sea each year (Dutton, 2014). This study will utilize the outcome of historical resolutions taken to resolve the dispute and analyze the conflict. Conducting a thorough analysis of this dispute is significant because it will set a good precedence for other existing global territorial disputes. In addition, finding a working solution for the dispute will benefit the ASEAN member countries through stability and other interested entities, such as the U.S., who rely on the South China Sea for trade. This paper will propose an International mediation alternative to the South China Sea oil dispute that will promote joint utilization of the natural resources within the territorial...
