Communication Plan

Working in any group can have its positives and negatives. I think the positives part of working in a group is getting to know people that are different from you but having the same goals as yours and that is going over and beyond to try to get the job done successfully. Another positives aspect you have when it comes to working in a group you don’t have to do the work all by yourself and to heads are always better than one. One of the negatives parts of working in a group is trying to get everyone on the same page and that can take a little bit of time because I’m sure everyone has other things going on in their life. Another negative situation that can easy occur is having miss communication in your group. In order for group projects to be successful the team members need to understand what it is they need to achieve. We have to make the task at hand clear, so that the group knows what is involved and expected of them. All group members have to be held accountable for their part in group assignments. All group members should be encouraged to participate in assigned assignments and express their ideas. We should have structured meetings with an agenda at hand. We as a team need to have the ability to handle disagreements without allowing them to distract us or cause conflict in the group. My group came up with an action plan to be able to communicate more effectively in our group. We are going to do a lot of brainstorming to come up with one great idea. When you work in a group you have to be very respectful of others and their opinions and you also have to keep in open mind. We are going to listen to each other and keep negative thoughts to our self, not only that but we are also going to motivate each other. Some of the ways we are going to do a better job with working on our communicating with each is by exchanging phone numbers so we can communicate with each other faster and also by sending emails to each other.

Ethics of Ecology

...Wildlife Conservation Adam Burdick Bryant & Stratton College NSCI 280 Professor Wooten 10/20/2013 Human beings are considered to be the most advance species on the planet. This also makes us the most intrusive species on the planet. We effect our environment more than any other living creature. Our populations continue to grow exponentially each year and as they do we intrude on other species habitats even more. Considering we are the most advanced species it is our responsibility to ensure the safety of all other species and do what we can to shorten the endangered species list. The conservation of wildlife is an incredibly important goal that all people should take part in. “Successful species conservation has often been defined as simply the avoidance of extinction” (Redford 2011.) This is the most important goal of anyone interested in wildlife conservation. It is important for us as a species to take responsibility and make the effort to keep other species away from extinction. Wildlife conservation is not something that can only be handled by professional members of organizations. Anyone can do their part to help protect a species in need. In some cases it is as simple as refraining from harmful activities such as hunting for sport. Hunting is a major conservation concern (Selvan & Veeraswami, p11.) If people raise awareness about how hunting effects the populations of large bodied animals perhaps we can help to reduce the damage done to these...

Biodiversity

...Biodiversity Paper Biology as a science concerned with living organisms, said organism’s function, origin, structure, and distribution is defined through numerous subdivisions and branches. Conservation biology is a branch, which deals with certain factors threatening biodiversity as well as the preservation of genetic and biologic diversity of animal and plant species. Threatened, endangered, and extinct species are only some factors that may influence biodiversity. Any given species has to meet a certain criteria to suit the previously named terms. Conservation biologists are concerned with numerous species because of said species’ influence on the interrelation within their ecosystems, and the interruption of such ecosystem when the numbers of a certain species are drastically decreasing. Conservation biology is concerned with the maintenance of species, their genetic variation, ecosystems, and communities within such ecosystems. Biodiversity includes “The variety of life and its processes, including the variety of living organisms, the genetic difference among them, and the communities and ecosystem in which they occur” (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, 2004, p. 1). Even though the term “species” is complex, and some definitions may differ slightly from others “A species is often defined as a group of individuals that actually or potentially interbreed in nature” (Berkley University, n.d., p. 1). Therefore, a species is defined as the greatest gene pool that can...

Strategic Plan

...Sample Outline for a Strategic Communication Action Plan The following is an example of an outline for a strategic communication action plan for XXXX County Schools based on the recommendations from an NSPRA Communication Audit Report. The suggested goals were taken from the guiding principles, objectives and action steps detailed in the recommendations in the report. The plan also indicates which of the district’s strategic directions (or goals) the communication goals most directly relate to. Please note that this is an outline and not a complete plan, as there are sections that Communications Office staff and administrators need to address, such as budget, timelines, responsible parties and evaluation measures. Ongoing communication and public relations activities should also be added. While this represents a substantial start on developing a comprehensive communication plan, it requires the input and direct involvement of XXXX County Schools staff and patrons in order to prepare a final plan. Strategic Direction: Highest Student Achievement Suggested Goal: Position XXXX County Schools as “the district of choice” for quality teaching, learning and student achievement. Objectives • Develop clear, consistent messages that are delivered in “one clear voice.” Action steps: ♦ Create a theme. Team Building

...shared mental models, trust, and closed loop communication. Each of the dimensions is playing a really important role in determining the process and performance of the team. I am in group 7 in class A for the case competition. For the mock case competition in Team Building class, we designed an action plan and a contract in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our group work. The action plan and contract set out the standard and target at each point of our group work procedure. By following the plan and contract, we made a big progress than the first group assignment. As for the real case competition, we also signed the contract and adapted the action plan. By following the procedures outlined in the plan, we carried out the work process faster with less time wasted on the misunderstanding and repetition. Firstly, I want to start with the action contract. By the time we received the case, we designed an action contract on which every group members signed. The Contract basically set out the outline of the group work periodic targets, the barriers of reaching the targets, and the plan to over come the barriers. The contract functioned well as a Team orientation of the team effectiveness model. Each of the team members obtained an understanding of the overall and periodic objectives of the work, the approaches to share the information and the strategies to overcome the potential barriers. Also, the action contract referred to the shared mental models...

For 95 years (A.I.I.) has stood by its clients as they faced many challenges from the financial collapse of 1929 to the drought of the dust bowl years and even the ravages of World War Two.
