Communication Challenges
This paper will address the negative news information received and the communication efforts to the general population regarding this situation. As I am the Communications Coordinator for a national drug manufacturer, we will be discussing both the advantages and disadvantages as to the best communication methods in order to get out the information to the vast population. This paper will discuss the methods of using traditional, electronic, and social media.
We will first take a look at the different forms of communication, both formal and informal. “Information and communication technology offer powerful means for restructuring many health service processes, and there currently are an increasing array of communication channels, media, and devices from which communication services can be constructed” (Colera, 2006, p. 97). There are many different methods available in both categories that it would be impossible not to find one that will reach all.
Formal communication would include the following: Face to face, one on one emails, instant messaging, personal telephone calls, voicemail, faxing, and postal mailing. These methods would be affective advantage for dealing with the specific people what has been reported as a significant population that has had the negative effects. The one on one communication will show concern for their side effect that is currently being reported and that we as the drug company are listening. But, there could some disadvantages to several of these methods. We need to decide which of these communication tactics will be the best, while making sure that we do not break any HIPAA guidelines. We need to know who it is that we are talking to as not to violate the privacy, how do we make sure that only the person affected

Challenges in Communication

...Challenges in Communication Communication can be conveyed in a plethora of different ways, whether it is a debatable topic between individuals a group of individuals, a problem or issue discussed in a relationship, or every day conversation between friends. Regardless of the situation, the information must be communicated, and perceived, accurately in order for the discussion to yield the intended result. According to “What is Communication?” (2013), “the discipline of communication focuses on how people use messages to generate meanings within and across various contexts, cultures, channels, and media” (para 1). Information can be transferred by using numerous different communication methods such as verbal communication, written communication, and visual communication, but the most familiar methods are verbal and non-verbal communication. Although they are often used together, verbal and non-verbal communication are undeniably different types of communication. Verbal communication is the presentation of information through speech and is the most commonly recognized form of communication. Non-verbal communication, on-the-other-hand, is much more in-depth and, in most cases, viewed as more important than the actual content itself. Non-verbal communication is given and received even when the person is not speaking. The way someone sits, the tone or volume of their voice when speaking, the placement of his or her feet, and whether or not eye contact is made are just a few illustrations...

A. I can’t initiate communication with people I first meet. B. I can’t use specific language to avoid my audience’s misinterpretation. C. I can’t deliver my messages to my audiences without being anxious. D. I can’t make eye contacts during communications E. I can’t defend myself when people attack me verbally Descriptions and illustrations: A) I can’t initiate communication with people I first meet. I feel that it is rude to just start talking to people I’m not familiar with. This is because I’m not sure if people are going to respond to me in a positive way. One Saturday morning, I was just walking and asked a person what time it was, and he stared at me and walked away. I was not sure why he did so but this reinforced my feeling of not initiating communication with strangers. B) I can’t use specific language to avoid my audience’s misinterpretation. I am a non-native speaker. It seems that what I say doesn’t come across the native speakers due to the fact that my native language affects the way I pronounce English words. This always makes confusion to my listeners. One Sunday morning, I went to buy some groceries and I couldn’t find some of the items I was looking for. I asked a store attendant and he kept...

Waking up to the Call Satellite communication was not an integral part of the Ghanaian communications system until the early 1980s. Prior to 1981 communication within Ghana and between Ghana and the outside world was not very effective. The country relied on aging Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) Lines for voice, and terrestrial microwave networks for radio, and television. The construction of a satellite earth station at Kuntunse in the Eastern region of Ghana in 1981, and related communication reforms of the early 1990s marked a dramatic shift towards greater use of satellite communications technology over the next two decades. Meeting the Challenges of Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Lessons from Teacher Incentive Fund Grantees

...Meeting the Challenges of Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Lessons From Teacher Incentive Fund Grantees The Harvesting Project Julia E. Koppich J. Koppich & Associates Meeting the Challenges of Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Lessons From Teacher Incentive Fund Grantees As of August 2010, a total of 33 states, school districts, charter school coalitions, and other education organizations¹ had received Teacher Incentive Funds (TIF) to redesign compensation programs for teachers and principals. The U.S. Department of Education named a new cohort of TIF grantees on September 23, 2010. TIF grantees have faced a number of challenges as they have worked to design and implement new educator pay programs. Among the most demanding challenges has been developing a targeted set of metrics around available and manageable data. Grantees use these metrics to measure teacher or principal effectiveness and assign pay. Recently, grantees have made it a priority to sustain operation programs once their federal funding expires. TIF grantees have also found, often belatedly and unexpectedly, that effective stakeholder engagement and communication are challenging and essential to the success of their pay programs. Stakeholder engagement helps to create buy-in and initial acceptance of the TIF plan. It allows different voices and perspectives to be heard and recognized as new approaches to compensation develop. Communication provides the synergy to broaden buy-in and...

...Thesis: The challenges of being a single parent include managing finances, responsibilities and resources The challenge of being a single parent has become harder over time. The fact is that over time things have changed but not for a single parent. Statics show that there has been a steady rise for five decades and that the births to unmarried women has crossed a threshold. An example of this would be, a single mom that can’t provide day care for her child because her income is not enough to pay the bills and day care. The challenges of being a single parent include, managing finances, responsibilities and resources, their work is never done nor are their struggles. One of the challenges a single mom has raising her son and daughter would be getting up at 4am taking 3 buses to transport her children to her mother (who lives on the other side of town). Spending 2 hours getting there and another 3 buses and a hour and a half getting to work. There is a limit on everything she does because she does not have the opportunity to get an education, she has to work and provide for her family. Pawning valuables to make ends meet when money is short, living from pay check to pay check. Child support is another challenge for a single mom when the children’s father does not work, all the financial responsibility is on the single parent. Another challenge to a single mom is that because she is a woman, to keep from being taken advantage of, she will pay more money for rent to keep...
