...Communication Channel Scenarios Management MGT/521 March 18, 2012 Instructor: Patrick Murray When tasked to head up a team to develop a strategy for introducing a new beverage in the global market, the best form of communication would be sending out an e-mail and scheduling a conference call. Time management is crucial for this type of short-term deadline. Delegation, prioritizing tasks, and setting goals are vital to ensure completion of the task at hand as well as making sure the deadline is met. The email is grouped with the key players so they can communicate with one another and everyone will be aware of his or her responsibility. During the conference call, brainstorming for ideas as well as the delegation of assignments will be set. Each member is tasked with an assignment regarding the product details. A breakdown of how information is received is included in the call. This will include names of each member and his or her responsibility with regard to the task as well as a time schedule of when information is to be presented. The importance of the mass group emailing will be beneficial for members who may have questions of another team member who may tie into his or her portion of the project. Another conference call is conducted by the third day to try to bring the project to life and questions can be asked if there are any conflicts or unknown issues...

But there is one way I like communicate regardless of business or personal life. The most consistent line of communication for me is face to face communication. This line of communication happens with my mom all the time. I live with her and see her all the time to let her know how I feel. My mom and I have discussions about what to buy from the grocery store every week. We can just interact and listen to each other to let each other know what we like and don’t like. Or have a conversation about old memories in my childhood about how I was a troublesome child with good tendencies. You couldn’t express your gestures, charisma, and emotion over your e-mail like face to face. Face to face communication tells you about the person, express how they feel, and sends better message than any other channel. While face to face communication is the best way to communicate in my opinion. There are some good things about it like facial expressions...

Clear Channel Communications

...Clear Channel Communications Case 1. Evaluate the sales process that led to the 37.60 offer. Did the sales process followed by the Board and the Special Advisory Committee maximize the offer price? What else should have been done, if anything, to increase the offer price? • In 2006 Mark and Randall Mays approached Goldman Sachs to discuss several options for the proposed sale of Clear Channel Communications. Options included a leveraged buyout, a complete spinoff of CCO, and/ or the sale of certain assets such as rural-market radio stations and all of its television stations. • The LBO came to the forefront and the Randalls met with private equity firms Blackstone and Providence Equity. Blackstone and Providence presented a bid as a consortium to buy Clear Channel for $34 per share. The independent board of directors swiftly rejected the price as they felt it was not adequate. Blackstone and Providence then indicated they might be willing to increase their bid to 35.50. Soon after private equity firms Thomas H Lee Partners expressed interest in bidding along with Bain Capital and TPG to form a competing consortium. Two more consortiums also had come together Apollo Management and the Carlyle Group, and Cereberus Capital Management and Oak Hill Capital Management. • Each consortium separately proposed a price of $ 36.50 per share. The board felt the bids were too similar to each other to choose and requested they improve their share price. In November 2006 the consortium...

...that this project is up and running on or before the deadline. Personally, I feel that a face-to-face with the Vice President of Operations is also the proper communication channel. In addition, the teams lead or additional supervisor that you manage should be present as well. This is so you can show off your new strategy via PowerPoint touching on all of the high points for their review. In addition, a face-to-face meeting will give the VP the opportunity to give immediate feedback in the event anything needs to be changed or updated. However, if the VP of Operations sent this information to you via email, and is confident in you and your team’s ability an email with a PowerPoint presentation could be sufficient. Scenario 2 For contacting the IT department, it would really depend on the companies guidelines. However, a telephone call would most likely be the best option. Since this is regarding a system error, the IT personnel will most likely have to verify your identity. This is why the telephone would be the fastest and the best option to rectify the situation. However, if no one answers I would also send an email so that two forms of communication have been sent. Regarding my team members, an email with the new login information would be sufficient. The reason for this is it would be the fastest form of communication to get to all of your team members. Some of your team may have the day off or are talking to clients....

Communication Channels

...There are many communication channels organizations use to communicate internally and externally. Some of these communication channels work better than others and some need improvement. Some organizations have similar methods and some different. After taking an inventory of the different communication channels in different organizations there are many communication methods available in different organizations. For example there are methods such as, emails, faxing, advertisement, written memos, phone, interpersonal, networking, conferences, or even texting. The different organizations consist of a Home Health Aides, Admissions Director, and Field office Administrator. After surveying the different work environments and their communication channels there are some organizations that use more communication methods than others. When communicating internally as a Home Health Care Aide, emails, phone conversations, text messages, and letters are a source of communication. As a Home Health Aide one mainly has contact with his or her clients and the client’s case managers. One only has to communicate with the case managers if there is a problem with the client, if the client is hospitalized, if there is a change in the clients care, or if problems arise with the family member. ...Communication Channels Dominick Pennella MGT/521 October 18, 2011 Jim Bingel Communication Channels Mediums for communicating information come in many different forms. Different scenarios, involving varying levels of message complexities, requires a dynamic approach to selecting the type of medium used to convey a message or “communication channel.” The proceeding paragraphs will breakdown three separate scenarios and choose which communication channel would best fit the situation: Scenario #1 In this scenario the VP of Operations has tasked me with developing a strategy to introduce a new beverage into the global market, and I only have 1 week to do so. I must also share this plan with my team and convey my message in a clear and concise manner. In this case, I would have to choose face-to-face communication. The main reason behind this choice is that the timeframe and complexity of the message I need to convey can in no way be fulfilled by alternate means, such as e-mail, IM or TM or even a phone conversation. A message of this magnitude must be in person, so that the use of body language and tone of voice can be utilized to convey urgency, motivation, and seriousness. My message also can be incredibly specific as to what my expectations are, by using physical examples, and possibly training my team. Face-to-face communication is the “richest” of communication methods, and will allow me to “convey a verbal message and receive a response in minimal...

Channels of Communication

...Communication Channels Master in Business Administration (MBA.) Abstract Why communication channels are important Every communication is very important and it has different channels. In the communication process “we” have to understand the channel to use, if a person wants to send a message (the sender), that person has to be aware to have the right encoded message so the receiver will easily decode it and get the right meaning of it. In an organizational communication channel we, have to understand the direction of the message (downward, upward and, lateral communication) so we can provide the appropriate feedback to the sender. When we refer to communication channels the communication could be orally or verbally or it can be a written one, sometimes both types of communications are necessary to deliver the right message. When we provide oral communication, especially in business we, have to provide the information, explain why we are taking that action, refrain from any rumors and at the end maintain as much as possible all communication channels open. If we want to use electronic communication we have to keep in mind to be clear (avoiding misrepresenting the message), especially when using e-mail. Another form of communication channel we have to be careful because is very important is the no verbal communication, especially when we deliver it to people from different cultures. In conclusion all type all communication channels are important in our daily lives. Communication...

Communication Channels

...Communication Channels paper October 3, 2011 Paul Wing Communication generally is divided into multiple parts, usually four, the first part being the sender, secondly the message or content itself, thirdly the communication channel it is transmitted over and last but not least the intended receiver. The goal of any communication is for it to be understood in its entirety by the receiver. With this many pieces to the puzzle of communication and the variety of available channels to use the ramifications of a misunderstood message could be detrimental to all parties involved. This in turn can make communication in a health care organization quite complex. For example, an individual can use a hard copy letter, an e-mail; verbal or nonverbal/body language and if multiple channels are combined and used for the sending of the message, interpretation may become more complex and the receiver may need extra time to understand the direction being given unfortunately in a health care setting time can be of the essence. Health care organizations distribute health information and communicate with patients in a variety of ways, both internally and externally. These varieties can be but are not limited to memos, e-mails, letters, telephone, and direct person to person contact. It is important to point out that the different communication channels all have strengths and weaknesses. For example, in a face-to-face scenario a staff member may not speak to a patient the same way they...

...Communication Channels Team C HCS/320 Health Care Communication Strategies July 02, 2012 Tracey Collins Communication Channels Since the beginning of time man has strived to find ways to communicate. Scientists have spent years trying to decipher what cavemen were trying to say with their drawings on cave walls. In today’s society the numbers of ways to communicate are growing day by day. Years ago, who would have ever thought they could keep up with their favorite actor or professional sports team simply by following them on twitter. Today we have smart phones, iPhones, e-mails, twitter accounts, and talk face-to-face with those in different countries by using Skype on our laptops, computers, and cell phones. In business, technology plays a major role in how communication is achieved. The basis for effective and strategic internal communications is to provide timely and significant information to individuals, through channels they use and trust, and in language they understand. However, new ways of accomplishing this are discovered daily. Various communication channels are being used in health care organizations within the United States. The different communication channels used in medical facilities and other businesses are the Vocera, GroupWise, Walkie Talkies, and talking face-to-face. ...Communication Channel Scenarios Scenario 1 The communication channel that best suits this situation is a team meeting. This is the best choice because as the marketing manager, information can be relayed in a timely fashion and a quick response from the teammates can be received. With the deadline being a week away, it is vital that quick feedback is delivered. Being that the content is rich in information, the face-to-face communication helps to reduce any misunderstanding. If this issue were to arise, it can be resolved immediately. While relaying the strategy plan to the Vice President, a face to face conversation is also necessary. By implementing this communication channel, information can be presented with minimal time and with rapid feedback, additional changes can be made promptly. Scenario 2 To contact the IT department, a phone conversation would be the appropriate form of communication. The reason for this communication is because it is an issue that has a high demand to be resolved quickly. To inform employees, an email with the new login name and password would be sent immediately. Written communication is the best choice for this routine message because it is concrete and can be easily accessed at a later date if needed. Scenario 3 If faced with the issue of reducing the number of employees in order to stay productive, the proper communication to inform workers of the decision is a one-on-one meeting with each employee. Being that the message has high...

With this, there is a great interest in using information and different communication technologies to support these health services (Coiera, 2006). Some of these communication technologies include: phone, fax, email, and voice. I think all communication is important in the workplace but most of all what really matters is that the workplace runs effectively In my work place we communicate daily through email.
