This report is about the process of team communication. I will give a detailed profile about team communications within team dynamics. I will talk about how team dynamics and how they work, how team communication is essential in any organization or group, and how team communication needs to run within a group. It has already been established that the biggest hurdle that virtual teams will face is the communication between them. According to Beranek (2005), “a virtual environment fundamentally transforms the ways in which teams work. Virtual teams can form, apply diverse intellectual talent, and disband quickly and how well organizations manage this process can make the difference between success and failure. These new environmental characteristics make communication and collaboration even more critical to a team’s success.”

Team Dynamics

Team Dynamics are the hidden authority that administers in a team between various people or groups. Team Dynamics can certainly access how a team responds functions or performs, and the results of team dynamics that are often so perplex. Willingness to talk and share information and effectively presenting your point of view. This involves several factors: personal styles, trust that the information will not be used in a negative way, back off politics or believe that information is power that would inhibit sharing information, and effort on the part of the speaker to de-personalized issues that would otherwise create defensiveness. Sometimes, an “absence” of a natural force can also be a team dynamic (Wallace, 2004). This is where team communication comes into play.

Aspects of Team Communication

One of the biggest aspects of team communication is not the group itself but the people working within it. It is important that every person within a team be fully alert of their job duties and capableness. Adequate communication is always needed in any place of work. To work in a team it is vital that all team members agree with each other on a daily basis. Work groups alter in their workload, and in the way they are protected. Also people who make up the team each have needs that must be met in order to keep team efficiency. One way of looking at this is to analyze the features of a team; teams have a chance to speak out and should be able to do so. All teams need to listen to what is being said. No one will ever be put down for their continuing ideas to the group. Conflicts that develop are talked about without people getting mad. There will be rules that are made by each team member, the rules are adjustable and can easily be changed when agree upon. Every team member keeps to the set of rules; everyone understands and aims for the goal for the team. The workload within the team is shared accordingly. No one will dominate the team and try to make decisions for the team based on an agreement; everyone is prepared to accept what decision is made.

Listening in your Team

To be a good listener in your team, you need to become a good listener, there are several ways to become a active listener: ask other team members their opinions about a subject before you present yours, be organized; think things out before communicating, deal with one problem at a time, show curiosity in the other person’s views and thoughts, and present solid details instead of prevailing generalizations. A good listener listens to every thing that is being said by the other person. A lot people really do not know how to communicate. Instead, they just take turns talking, which sometimes gets no one, no where. Some people may behave like that are listening, but actually just try to think of the next thing that they want to say. If you shift the letters in the word LISTEN, you get the word, SILENT (Lee, 2004). Keeping quiet, both in the body and mind, is the best necessity for adequate listening that leads to everyone understanding.

Becoming a Great Communicator

In the workplace, it is so important to be a great communicator for your team. Good communication is essential in every feature of the team, getting the team to assist, trying to avoid confusion, and to get conflicts resolved. Humans talk through body language and the tone of their voices. Those signals are gone when teams try to communicate in a distance-based or computer-mediated way. This can sometimes cause chaos and worry for people who are new to this type of virtual world. Working in this type of distance-based environment takes deliberate cooperation from all team members. Communication keeps the team members well-versed; therefore a team functioning towards the same goal can be more successful and competent.

Dealing with Issues

In a team you are all working towards the same goal, getting your team in order. You need to characterize and guarantee that the goal is mutual with the other team members. If there are questions/issues about the goal those need to be determined swiftly in order for the team to move ahead. When decisions need to be prepared the team has to be made aware of the choice that is at hand. Team members are encouraged to ask for contribution from others. Differences are invited and dealt with as a crucial part of making sound decisions for the team. Team members contribute to the responsibility for effective communication.

Valuable Guidelines in Communication

Here are some valuable guidelines to think about for team communication, a team must be exact this includes facts and details to pass up when being unclear, they must be precise as much as possible and they must be sure that the information they are giving is true and trustworthy, they must be direct with those they are communicating with and they should not use question the information, they should be reasonable making sure messages are easy to track, be complete give all needed information in regards to others thoughts, be to the point, not pointlessly using long-drawn-out words, the team should be relevant, staying on task and give information that is required, and lastly ask for reaction have the team give remarks or information.

In conclusion, I have discussed and gave a detailed profile of team dynamics in team communication and discussed how each team or group needs to use communication within their team to properly get things accomplished. Without communication in a team things will not get done and their will be confusion and major problems.

The Communication

...------------------------------------------------- Communication For other uses, see Communication (disambiguation). "Communicate" redirects here. For other uses, see Communicate (disambiguation). Communication (from Latin commūnicāre, meaning "to share" [1]) is the activity of conveying information through the exchange of ideas, feelings, intentions, attitudes, expectations, perceptions or commands, as by speech, non-verbal gestures, writings, behavior and possibly by other means such as electromagnetic, chemical or physical phenomena and smell. It is the meaningful exchange of information between two or more participants (machines, organisms or their parts).[2][3] Communication requires a sender, a message, a medium and a recipient, although the receiver does not have to be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication; thus communication can occur across vast distances in time and space. Communication requires that the communicating parties share an area of communicative commonality. The communication process is complete once the receiver understands the sender's message.[citation needed] Communicating with others involves three primary steps:[4] * Thought: First, information exists in the mind of the sender. This can be a concept, idea, information, or feeling. * Encoding: Next, a message is sent to a receiver in words or other symbols. * Decoding: Lastly, the receiver translates the words or symbols into a concept or...

The form of written communication that should be use to relay the message to teammates should be an email. An email will allow the marketing manager to get the message out immediately to the teammates. How quickly the message is relayed is very important because the team only has one week to come up with the strategy. If the team members have any type of questions, ideas, or concerns, after reading the email, the can then reply to the message. When conveying the strategy to the vice president, I would use oral communication. Having a face-to-face meeting with the vice president about the strategy will allow the marketing manager to convey the team’s strategy thoroughly. Once this information is presented, the vice president can then ask any questions he or she may have, as well as give his feedback on the strategy. The Importance Of Communication In Communication

...understanding when addressing your message to the audience, in written or spoken form. In business communication, having your audience understand your message is vital to success. The strategies that are being focused on are: Clarity, Conciseness, Credibility, Tone and Reference. Clarity is a big part of communication as it enforces understanding within the message. In other words, it allows for communication to flow naturally, and be understood easily. Without clarity, an audience may be thinking about something you said (such as a word, that they aren't familiar with), rather than thinking about what your message is about. In the past, I have used clarity to help describe a problem to a customer, rather than using difficult “trade terms” for them. Here's an example: “Look at the back of your TV, and you will see three cables. They are red, yellow and white colored.” That sentence is much easier to understand than “Look at the input...

...Our Aviation Engine Repair Center is not an exception and our organization uses a variety of tools in the process of communication but, in the course of time, we have eventually arrived to the necessity to use all media effectively so that the message could fit the media it is transmitted by. First of all, it should be said that, at the present moment, we use a variety of media which may be viewed as traditional and new ones. Among traditional media, or communication channels that are used in our Aviation Engine Repair Center may be named telephone and faxes. In fact, telephone is probably the most widely spread and used channel of communication within our organization. Basically, the communication process occurs by means of telephone between different units or departments of our company. For instance, the director can communicate with a head of the department using the telephone simply in order to find out the general information about the functioning of the department what it actually works at or what are the recent results of its work. Similarly, a head of the department can communicate with the manager in order to find out the details of some order the latter received from a customer, or vice versa, the manager can supply the head of the department with more detailed information about the order and demands of a customer. By the way, the telephone communication may be also external, when a manager communicates with a customer, for instance, that is also quite effective as it...

It shows a very friendly atmosphere for not only travelers but also employees. To me it looks like they work very hard to keep a positive message at the front of the communication in their blog. I can’t say that I travel all that much, but after reading through some of the blog posts I would consider traveling with Southwest. Again there seems to be a lightness within the company that would be very welcoming. I am most interested in learning more about the company after reading and reviewing the blog. In today’s business world it is so important to stay in the front of the public’s eye. Creating a blog and Twitter account seems like the best thing to do. Especially in a world of smart phones. By putting their ideas and promotions out in a very open and public way they are able to reach a variety of people from many different cultures. I think it is very important for Southwest to continually think about their broad audience and develop messages that appeal to a wide variety of individuals. It is also very important to plan carefully what they are posting. ...Experts agree that good communication is one of the keys to being successful in today’s competitive job market. People must be able to communicate with each other on a daily basis to keep the work flowing in an orderly fashion, and to deal with work issues as they arise. Misunderstandings can lead to delays, which ultimately affect the productivity of the company. In the past decade, employers have been forced to cut back on the number of personnel in order to save money, and problems in productivity can be even more detrimental in a slim-downed work force. Communication in the 21st century is quickly evolving into one that involves less conversation, and more electronic sharing of information. While in the past, an employee might have a discussion with a co-worker face-to-face, today people tend to communicate via email or instant message. Either way, the old rules still apply regarding how to effectively communicate in the workplace. [pic][pic][pic] One of the most important components for successful interpersonal communication is clarity. People need to be able to understand what you are saying. This may seem obvious, but it is surprising how many people seem to think that excessive language makes them appear more intelligent and/or important. In conversation either in person or by phone, speak clearly, making your point quickly. Before you pick up the phone to make a call, have your points organized and be ready to answer questions if posed. If the person to whom you...
