Reading and writing meant a lot to all three of them Malcolm x , Sandra Cisneros and Frederick Douglass. They all struggled a lot to pursue their profession .they expressed themselves better after they discovered reading and writing. In their stories they described their conditions when they started reading and writing. This essay discusses how the readings of Frederick Douglass , Malcolm x , and Sandra Cisneros compare and contrast. Malcolm x was out of prison , “a free man “ after he knew how to read and write . Sandra always wanted to prove herself therefore reading and writing helped her father proved wrong . Last but not the least , Frederick Douglass wanted to prove that he was more than a slave . Malcolm x wanted to prove that he was more than a prisoner . Sandra Cisneros always wanted to prove that she was more than a wife .
There is a time difference between them and their writings .Frederick Douglass and Malcolm x are dead however Sandra Cisneros is alive . when it comes to their gender , they were male where as Sandra is a female . When it came to their race and ethnicity , Frederick Douglass and Malcolm x were African - American and Sandra was a Latino .
