Beowulf is the knight and shining armor through the story. He gained his reputation through many of his endeavors during his life span. Fighting demons in his younger brighter days to slaying dragons in his older superior ones. In his first renowned battle in the book he kills a creature that goes by the name of Grendel. Grendel embodies the inner monster in all humans. He’s like the little red devil on ones left shoulder telling you to do the evil thoughts that you think, but never do. Grendel is the first monster that Beowulf’s encounters during the story. He is a decedent of Caine from the Biblical story “Able and Caine”.
