Both Papa John’s and Pizza Hut used the ‘Back To The Future’ movie theme for their commercial. Pizza Hut’s commercial was first aired back in 2008. In the commercial, two teenage boys travelled in time from 1989 to 2015. They found that the word was very different and the only thing that hasn’t changed was Pizza Hut.
Last year, on the other hand, Papa John’s decided to use the opposite approach in their commercial and travel back in time to the 80’s. They had an offer where if you buy a large pizza for the regular price, you get another large pizza for 30 cents.

For continued growth, however, Domino’s has to reduce customer churn, drive up same-store sales, continually reinforce and strengthen their brand, capitalize on socio-cultural shifts occurring in the United States and elsewhere, and finally continually redefine its in store dining strategies relative to the growing rise of online sales. Lesser competitors have higher in store and same store sales than Domino’s, and also have broader mix of lunch and dinner alternatives. In addition, according to Roper (2005) 58% of American households are willing to try a new dinner alternative relative to cooking or ordering out. Compounding this is the fact that 73% or 3 out of every four households by 4:30pm are clueless as to what will be served for dinner. These two insightful figures provide a glimpse into how volatile the quick service restaurants (QSR) marketplace is. Clearly the use of up sell, cross sell ad incentives to drive up...

Swot Analysis

...SWOT Group Project Essay Merrell’s Pizzeria is a home-style pizzeria business located in Greer, South Carolina. Merrell’s specializes in delicious pizzas and Italian classics as well as amazing service. Merrell’s currently uses the focus strategy. They concentrate on great service and great food using high quality ingredients. The owner conveyed this to us during our interview, and we also witnessed and experienced this firsthand on our visit. This is an effective strategy because if Merrell’s provides amazing service to its customers and provides its consumers with a delicious product, the customers will keep coming back and will hopefully spread the word. It has developed customer loyalty and through their social network presence word has spread about the restaurant. Employees are empowered to make decisions in order to make each customer’s visit a great and enjoyable experience. The owner is very hands on and there daily. This provides him an opportunity to make any changes or handle any crises that may come up. Merrell’s has a family and friend’s discount and they participate in the Valupak coupon circular. This helps bring in new customers, rewards current customers and builds brand loyalty. When it comes to Merrell’s strengths, the first strength is great dining experience. The food was of exceptional quality and was extremely delicious. As a group, we experienced this strength when we visited the restaurant one Sunday to observe and eat. The prices were...

In some degree to remedy this obvious defect, various short passages have been inserted, and several new chapters added. With this brief explanation, the tale is commended to the kindness of the reader; 'Beseking hym lowly, of mercy and pite, Of its rude makyng to have compassion.' ____ 5 ELIZABETH GASKELL 6 NORTH AND SOUTH CHAPTER I 'HASTE TO THE WEDDING' 'Wooed and married and a'.' dith!' said Margaret, gently, 'Edith!' But, as Margaret half suspected, Edith had fallen asleep. She lay curled up on the sofa in the back drawing-room in Harley Street, looking very lovely in her white muslin and blue ribbons. If Titania had ever been dressed in white muslin and blue ribbons, and had fallen asleep on a crimson damask sofa in a back drawingroom, Edith might have been taken for her. Margaret was struck afresh by her cousin's beauty. They had grown up together from childhood, and all along Edith had been remarked upon by every one, except Margaret, for her prettiness; but Margaret had never thought about it until...

...customer satisfaction is always influenced by the quality of interactions between customers and the personnel involved in the contact services (1994). In the last decade, the movement towards quality had started to spread from the manufacturing sector to the service sector. The shift of focus to quality is basic for the service business to survive the competition, get acceptance from society, and be able to achieve its missions. In principle, the two main things closely related to services are expected quality and experienced or perceived quality. The first is the customers' expectations of service quality and the latter is the customers' perceptions of service quality. The customers will always assess the services they experienced by comparing them with whatever they expected or wished to receive. Services are behavioral rather than physical entities and have been described as deeds, performances or effort (1966); deeds, acts or performances, (1980); activities or processes (1991). (1988) defined services as "that broad class of products characterized by intangibility, inseparability of production and consumption, difficulty of standardization and perishability". As (1986) notes, there is fairly widespread agreement in the literature concerning the...

He holds his head low over his double Scotch, but every few minutes he glances up and out, behind him, towards the door. A fine sheen of perspiration glistens under the strip-lights. He lets out a long, shaky breath, disguised as a sigh, and turns back to his drink. ‘Hey. Excuse me?’ I look up from polishing glasses. ‘Can I get another one here?’ I want to tell him it’s really not a good idea, it won’t help, it might even put him over the limit. But he’s a big guy and it’s fifteen minutes till closing time and, according to company guidelines, I have no reason to tell him no, so I walk over, take his glass and hold it up to the optic. He nods at the bottle. ‘Double,’ he says, and slides a fat hand down his damp face. ‘That’ll be seven pounds twenty, please.’ It’s a quarter to eleven on a Tuesday night and the Shamrock and Clover, East City Airport’s Irishthemed pub, which is as Irish as Mahatma Gandhi, is winding down for the night.
