In 1912 election, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and William Howard, competed for the United States presidency. Woodrow Wilson won the election and became the United states President. He won the election not just because he got the most votes but also because of his policies and plans that seems to work will for the people. For example, setting the Federal Reserve System and the banking reform in 1913.

Wilson in his “New Freedom” was democratic and labor interest in his speeches and promises. Also farmers made up important components of his party’s base. Wilson Wanted to fix the industrialization crisis and help people live and work better. Also, Wilson reformed three things which include; tariffs reduce, reforming the banks systems, and reforming the federal …show more content…
He was known for his progressive politics, he wanted to stop corruption in political offices and also he was against the misuse of power in controlling big business to avoid corruption. He also did a campaign to preserve the environment which was a good thing beside the other problems. Also, he planned to build the canal of Panama which made the distance shorter for transferring goods between Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel prize which known for peace, and he got it after helping in resolving the Russo-Japanese war. In his “new Nationalism” he believed that industrialization is helping the economy. Also he wanted to protect people from exploitation by the federal government. He focused on solving people problems and protects them from corruption as mentioned in his “Trust Buster” which helped many workers. He also did the “square Deal” which focuses on the equality for both small time laborer and big time business executive. This also helped the middle class by fighting the bad trusts.
