When I think about the “third space”, and what makes people happy, I think about a place that is stress free, a place people can go to connect to one another and disconnect from their busy lives. I think of a place where interaction is welcomed and relationships are formed. When designing Shepherd’s Brewery I plan on incorporating all those ideas and designing a place that encourages these acts.
Brining your dog into your “third space” is a more common practice in today’s society, dogs are leaving backyards and traveling with their owners and serving more as companions then pets. There have been many studies proving that owning a dog is beneficial to ones wellbeing and has many positive effects. Being a dog lover myself, I find that owning a dog not only relaxes me, but encourages me to be more social in new environments, and promotes positives interactions between myself and others. In the Journal Article, The Health Benefits of Owning a Pet, Dr. Jean Martin states that “Children and adults alike can benefit from playing with and owning pets, which can be a good source of calmness and relaxation, as well as a source of stimulation for the brain and body.” This interaction would help facilitate the type of interactions and help to promote the environment I envision. Design alone is not enough to promote happiness, it’s the surrounding environment that helps to develop happy experiences and encounters.
Due to the California Health Code, animals, (with the exception of service animals) may not enter into an enclosed space where food is being served and drinks are being poured. Owners may bring their dog to join them in outdoor dining spaces, and if the outdoor space is accessed from the interior, (ie: elevator or stairs) pets are welcomed into the first seventy-five feet of the establishment, so long as they are making their way to the outdoor space. Conceptual Framework of Accounting

...them? And list the importance of conceptual framework to financial report prove my view. NEED FOR A CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK Why do we need to develop a conceptual framework? Of course, it is be useful, the body of concepts should to make rules and relate to financial report; a soundly developed conceptual framework enables the IASB to issue more useful and consistent pronouncements over time. It means a coherent standard should result. So, if framework have no a soundly development, the guidance by it will influent standard-setting based on individual concepts. In other words, standard-setting cannot base on personal conceptual frameworks; it will lead to wrong conclusions about identical or similar issues than it did previously. As a result, past decisions is not treat as future ones, standards cannot be consistent with one another. Furthermore, the conceptual framework should be paying attention to users’ understanding about financial reporting. On the other hand, the development of conceptual framework should solve new or emerging problems quickly. Development of a conceptual framework Conceptual framework has a different definition for IASB and FASB, IASB’s conceptual framework usually is described in the document, FASB’ conceptual framework is a series of concept statements. The Concept of Administration and Organization

...THE CONCEPT OF ADMINISTRATION AND ORGANIZATION A: WHAT IS ADMINISTRATION First definition: “Administration can be defined as the activities of groups cooperating to accomplish common goals”. There are particular key elements of administration. Cooperative: the word cooperative is the first key element in this definition. Human activity is cooperative if it has the effects that would be absent if the cooperation did not take place. * Group Activity: Administration includes activities of more than one individual. * The term ‘cooperative’ is defined in terms of the results of the human activity. When two men together roll a stone which neither of them could roll alone they are cooperating. * Thus the essence of administration is the utilization of cooperative action for the accomplishment of common goals. * Common goal: the second key element of the above definition is the goal or purpose. * It is the common goal which encourages members to come together. Cooperation among members is possible when they share a common goal. The idea of goal is central to the concept of administration in the sense that if there was not a goal, the members of the group would not come together and cooperate with each other. * Without the formulation of an objective or goal, no one within the group would know what to do and they would not get involved in any activity. * When someone determines the objective and the group is formed, than the group......

...None Coms 2 Professor Reams 2/7/2013 Reading Response for Chapters 1-2 The one concept that I feel that I can apply best to my life is what Wayne Brockriede describes some arguers as rapist, seducer, and lover. In my own words rapist arguers are just people who attack and do not let people get their words out or their point across. These kinds of arguers are people who feel that what they are saying is right and cannot be wrong no matter what. The seducer is someone similar to the rapist but just in a smoother, sneakier way. He will listen to your side but he will not take it into consideration. The rapist is more about power than about reasoning. The seducer wants you to see things his way and he will do that by trying to sweet talk you or seeming to be extremely nice. His tactics are the same as the rapist but just are delivered differently. The seducer is about power but not as much as the rapist. Now the lover, he is absolutely different from the rapist and the seducer. The lover wants your opinion and will actually make it into consideration. The lover considers you as an equal and not as someone who is lesser than he is. They do not mind their views being changed unlike the rapist and the seducer. The lover is all about sharing the power; he is all about equality in arguing. I have experience this when my friends and I argue about something. We all have been the rapist, the seducer, and the lover in are arguments. We argue about everything and anything every day.......

Math

...math homework. I strongly advise you to do your math homework everyday, not for just a grade, but it also helps you when it comes time for quizzes and tests. She rarely checks homework, but when she does, she will not tell you. It is also a great review for tests and quizzes. Ms.Hull’s tests and quizzes are not the easiest things you will take. The quizzes take new concepts and apply to the quiz. Also, her tests are usually always hard. It is a good idea to practice new concepts and review old ones from previous units, so you can get a good grade on the tests. I also advise you to be organized throughout the year. Organization is the key to success especially in math class. Tool kits are an extremely helpful resource to use. There are going to be a lot of conjectures and theorems that will be new, and it would be hard to just memorize them. My overall geometry year was not exactly the way I hoped it would turn out. It was extremely had, and it moves at a very quick pace, so keeping up was hard for me personally. If I could have done something differently, it would have been practicing math more often. Each concept was hard, and I did not have anytime to review it, because I have a lot of honors classes which require a lot of work too. The key to being successful in this course is to pay attention, practice a lot outside of class, and do ALL of your homework. If you do that, I am sure your year...

...* In what ways does leadership at HCL Technologies use new-era concepts such as shared leadership and collaboration to change culture, structure, and processes to support and sustain innovation? Leadership at HCL Technologies has used new-era concepts in numerous ways to support and sustain innovation. Instead of having everything fall on the CEO’s shoulders, Nayar decided to create a section in the “U&I” portal called “My Problems”, which consisted of issues, questions, and concerns that were challenging to him. Many employees reached out to him to with their different ideas and offered suggestions that allowed for him to look at problems differently, and think outside of the box. On many instances, Nayar engaged in a back and forth dialogue with the portals contributors with questions like, What is the fundamental nature of the problem and how does it really affect us? (Nayar, 2010). By having these discussions with the contributors, it began to shift the responsibility of actions from the CEO to the employees. Another concept that was implemented, were employee communities called “Employee First Councils”. This idea was based upon trying to figure out things such as: What are the employees about and who are they? What are their ethics and what are they passionate about? Lexmark Canada Case Study

...Lexmark Canada Case Study The Lexmark Corporation is a financially strong organization that was spun off from the IBM Corporation to be a standalone business and this has caused some restructuring within the company. The sales department underwent a major shift from individual compensation packages to a team compensation concept that was not immediately embraced by everyone in the organization which led to some defections and put the company in a position to be short staffed. This raised questions about the concept itself and whether it was a workable plan and also if the compensation is an adequate motivator and measure of personal performance. The analysis of this case really comes to the point of do they have the right people to make this team work? And thru continuing education can the company get and retain the right people? Is the compensation package correct? These questions and more will be addressed. The problem started by being short staffed almost from the start when two account managers quit due to lack of control of their earnings as they saw it and disappointment from not being chosen as team leader. Getting the right people on board quickly and effectively would be a key, but “As difficult as it is, resist the temptation to hire for the short-term because bad hires are poison.” (Tao, 2012) This is true in this case because they were worried about making quotas, but if they hire the wrong person then it only sets the company farther behind. This is all a...

What Is Business

...exchange, when the business receives money for the service it provides it is able to take that money and use it to trade for other items the business needs. Once those needs are met with the money anything that is left over can be used as the business sees fit. That is why businesses always want to make a profit so that the extra money earned can be used at their discretion. ...in Malaysian standard The unique FRS in Malaysian standard is to issue statements of principles for financial reporting. Means, it is a description of the fundamental approach that the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board believes should, in principle, underpin the financial statements of profit-oriented entities. The Statement is intended to be a comprehensive and reasonably detailed description of that approach, and the approach itself is intended to be internally consistent, up-to-date and in line with the approaches adopted elsewhere in the world. Perception

...Perception The literal meaning of perception is ‘Perception is the organization, identification, and interpretation of sensory information in order to fabricate a mental representation’. The best personal encounter I had was between my newly appointed Manager & Team Lead. We used to take daily calls with our client for gathering the requirement for a new banking project. Their followed a systematic way of approach towards gathering, analyzing, and constantly discussing on the issues at hand and finally documenting and getting a written sign off on the requirement. This process was to be completed in a span of 3 months. Around the third month, the client started pushing and rushing with more requirements and there was less time to already accommodate the existing assignments at hand and on top more was coming in. As the manager was new to the project and he also wanted to establish himself, he compromised employees excessive workload by accepting and saying ‘Yes’ to whatever the client was demanding. He missed the fact that he can’t infer or perceive even without knowing what the employees had difficulties about. And secondly all this were falling into a process where the Quality of output was being compromised. The process was falling apart, then my Team Lead stepped in and had a discussion about this with the manger and made him realize that saying ‘yes’ to all what client is saying would further aggravate the issue. Accepting the requirement now and unable to......

Is Financial Education Needed?

...are a major part of daily life, as an adult and even as a young individual. Each and every one of us has to make financial decisions concerning recreation, health, education and more. The question is whether to start with financial education as part of school program or postpone it for a later stage in life. To being with, being able to understand the value of money, the way the economic system works and interpret financial news and its implications is a virtue. Without this virtue, an individual, and even a young one, might suffer, to some extent. For an example, a child who doesn’t understand the concept of money might find it more difficult to except choosing only one present out of more possible ones. In addition, many adults are lacking financial analysis capabilities. Quite often, the reason can be a shaky basis or insecurity when it comes to financial terms and concepts. Starting from an early age, building a strong background, can very likely prevent such a situation. However, financial education necessarily involves quantifying and setting prices and value for services and goods. It can be easily turn young people into cynical and cold-hearted human beings. Furthermore, a tendency to self-concentration and egoism might rise when one start measuring everything from a profit making perspective. In conclusion, financial education has both pros and cons. In my opinion, the advantages are stronger than the disadvantages, making financial education an......
