Accompanied by the salt wind and the cry of seabirds, the surf swishes and sways a lullaby. Cool white sand squishes between my toes while I read one of the many novels I brought with me. With beautiful surroundings, a multitude of things to do, and the chance to interact with wildlife, Condominios Pilar is my favorite vacation spot.
January is the time to visit our timeshare retreat which originally belonged to my grandparents. Condominios Pilar is a small group of Spanish style condos on the west coast of Sonora, tucked between a small inlet and the El Soldado estuary. The gleaming white walls play canvas to bright pink Bougainvillea flowers and are framed by red tile roofs, wrought iron balconies, and palm trees. The entrance is surrounded by lush green bushes trimmed to look like various animals. However, the view from the back patio is magic. A small grassy area gives way …show more content…
A morning stroll on the beach searching for interesting shells is the perfect way to start. Coordinating the morning stroll with low tide increases the chances of finding incredible specimens. In town, colorful clothes, glassware, jewelry, and rugs indicative of the culture of Mexico are available at eclectic shops that line the street. A short trip away is a pearl farm where you can learn about how pearls are formed and purchase a treasure. At Gary’s Dive Shop you can charter the most amazing fishing trip. After fishing for a few hours the boat anchors in a quiet cove where the cook takes over. Gently bobbing in the cove and eating tacos made from the fish that were just on your line perfectly caps off the trip. Back at the condo, kayaking in the ocean is one of my favorite activities. A route including a stop on the island toward the end of the inlet makes some of the most wonderful encounters

Members of this group included Pedro Alejandro Paterno, who wrote the novel Nínay (first novel written by a Filipino)[citation needed] and the Philippine national hero, José Rizal, who wrote excellent poetry and his two famous novels in Spanish: Noli Me Tángere (Touch Me Not), and El Filibusterismo. Especially potent was La Solidaridad, more fondly called La Sol by the members of the propaganda movement, founded in 15 February 1885.[citation needed] With the help of this paper, Filipino national heroes like José Rizal, Graciano Lopez Jaena, and Marcelo H. del Pilar were able to voice out their...

...Marcelo Hilario del Pilar y Gatmaitan: (August 30, 1850—July 4, 1896) was a celebrated figure in the Philippine Revolution and a leading propagandist for reforms in the Philippines. Popularly known as Plaridel, he was the editor and co-publisher of La Solidaridad. He tried to marshal the nationalist sentiment of the Filipino ilustrados, or bourgeoisie, against Spanish imperialism. Marcelo H. del Pilar was born in Cupang (now Barangay San Nicolas), Bulacan, Bulacan, on August 30, 1850, to cultured parents Julián Hilario del Pilar and Blasa Gatmaitan. He studied at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran and later at the University of Santo Tomas, where he obtained his law degree in 1880. Fired by a sense of justice against the abuses of the clergy, del Pilar attacked bigotry and hypocrisy and defended in court the impoverished victims of racial discrimination. He preached the gospel of work, selfrespect, and human dignity. His mastery of Tagalog, his native language, enabled him to arouse the consciousness of the masses to the need for unity and sustained resistance against the Spanish tyrants. In 1882, del Pilar founded the newspaper Diariong Tagalog to propagate democratic liberal ideas among the farmers and peasants. In 1888, he defended José Rizal's polemical writings by issuing a pamphlet against a priest's attack, exhibiting his deadly wit and savage ridicule of clerical follies. In 1888, fleeing from clerical persecution, del Pilar went to Spain, leaving...
