Cornelius Jacobi Adams is my name, but what is the real meaning behind such a unique and interesting name. When Mrs Beddingfield assigned this essay, I didn’t know anything but a few pieces of information about my name. Cornelius was just a name my mother gave me because she knew I would be smart so she wanted a name to fit in with that, and Cornelius sounded quite interesting and intelligent. I really don’t know anything about my middle name, Jacobi,except for the fact that it just sounded good. My last name, Adams, comes from my grandmother’s name. Adams was her name when she got married and she had it ever since. I would like to discover more about my name and the real meaning behind it. I would also like to know where my name came from and where did it originate from. By using the Internet, a personal interview, and a book, I discovered interesting fact about my first,middle,and last names. What I Learned My first name, Cornelius is not as popular today as it was in the 16th through the 18th centuries. It is found in the bible. It is a really popular name. More than 3 million people in the United States have the Last name Adams. Adams is also found in the popular Bible story “Adam and Eve”. Every Christian knows the story about Adam and Eve and how they were the first humans on Earth. So the name Adams is to believe to have been showing ownership of what Adam owned. My last name has some leadership behind it also, knowing that two Presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams had my last name (Behindthename.com).
