Lebanon is a country located in the Middle East along the Mediterranean Sea. Its coastal location as well as close proximity to many other nations makes Lebanon an ideal country for trade. Through an analysis of their culture, economy, and market we have been able to develop an introductory marketing plan for exporting OSB board from Michigan to Lebanon.

... Aviation, 2005). The scale of operation for such manufacturing will be a rather large one as jets are fairly large in size and the plant will create more jobs to the Brazilian economy. Although the number and size of wholesale middlemen in Brazil is extensive and organized according to industry instead of product type and carry different product types to satisfy varying consumer preferences, Embraer Jets will most likely benefit utilizing wholesale middlemen for raw materials, labor and warehousing. Methods of operation since being on a large scale will most likely be credit or wire transfers as the costs of these jets are in the millions of dollars. This is especially true since Embraer recently posted on their website of $12.5 billion in confirmed orders in 2012’s third quarter (Embraer Jet S.A, 2012). In Brazilian culture, they prefer to do business with people they trust. In order to penetrate the Brazil market through import, it is usually done by the presence of a local agent or distributor. Larger representatives may have several sales offices in many cities to supply country-wide while smaller representatives can either supply companies in a limited geographic region or “appoint business opportunity finders” (“Doing business in Brazil”, n.d). Companies in Brazil wishing to export should seek legal representation to negotiate terms with the foreign entity. Brazil is located on the coastal region which makes importing and exporting of goods attractive. ......

...Ashley Ryan 12/7/2011 Evaluation of “The Notebook” It’s common to find most love stories come with a happily ever after. This predictable ending seems semi-unrealistic, but is also a fantasy for some. Disney movies often capture this ideal point of view of a relationship, perfect from start to finish. It overlooks the actuality and different series of problems that can occur between two people. The movie “The Notebook”, based off Nicholas Sparks’ best-selling novel, is a beautiful story that captures the emotion of a forbidden summer love remaining strong through distance and complicated times. The movie begins with an elderly man and woman. This man reads the story aloud from an old, worn out book. The story is about a small town country boy, Noah, chasing after a city girl named Allie. Noah does everything it takes to become a part of Allie’s life. The two grew close, spending most of their time together even making dreams for their future. Noah and Allie had their share of arguments but nothing permanently damaging. The true conflict arises when Allie’s parents step in and demand the relationship to end. Noah and Allie come from two different classes with opposite standards and wealth. With the summer coming to an end, Allie’s parents force her to leave town. Within the blink of an eye the two teenagers are separated from each other, without any closure. Seven years pass and Allie is off meeting new people and creating a new life for herself. Noah on the other hand...

...This case tells how two companies in India, HLL’s Fair & Lovely and Cavin Kare’s Fairever , ran advertising campaigns that were not very ethical. In India fair skin is thought of as more beautiful and desirable than darker skin. Fair & Lovely was the leading company with 90% share and the Cavin Kare’s Fairever was released and they gained 15% share. This made Fair & Lovely launch a series of ads depicting a “fairer girl gets the boy theme.” Cavin Kare also came back with ads focusing on the same thing. They also showed in their commercials that their products worked. Their campaigns lasted for a few years and were eventually pulled due to harsh criticism for its portrayal of women. 1. Is it ethical to sell a product that is, at best, only mildly effective? From my point of view it is not ethical to sell a product that is, at best, only mildly effective. The product which is mentioned in the case is a cosmetic that lightens skin color. It is promoted as “the miracle worker” which can deliver your skin a difference from one to three shades. According to the new Fair & Lovely technology ad, the cream is supposed to change your skin even in four weeks. However, Indian dermatologists explain “that fairness products cannot truly work as they reach only the upper layers of the skin and so do not affect melanin production”. Moreover experts state, the main reason why people believe that the cream is work-ing, is a bleaching ingredient which just whitens facial hair and not the skin...

...Persuasive Essay: “I want to be able to fit in my jeans without any struggle. I’m sick of hearing these awful names,” says Abby. Obesity is a serious factor in America’s economy and we should realize how bad it is. The obesity rate of America is more than two thirds of the American population. “Statistics say that America’s obesity rate and their poverty rate is almost similar”. Rich Hamburg, the deputy director of Trust for America’s Health comments, “It all comes down to level of physical activity and nutrition- how much are they getting, what kinds of calories are they consuming?” (“Poverty”). To prevent this, America should take action in making their country a healthier place. The country should tax unhealthy foods such as sodas for the people in order to be healthier and prevent obesity. There are many reasons to why America is the first country to have the most obese people in. Obesity rates have increased surprisingly, doubling the rate since the 1970s. This is also a very important case for children. About a quarter of 2 to 5 year olds are obese in America. Obesity is when your weight is 20% more than average weight, compared to your height. This can be called a disease. “Heart stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes and different types of cancer can all be caused by just being obese” (“Obesity”). The Site-wide Navigation states that overweight people spend more on health care than the people with other health problems. Researchers have noticed huge...

France Notebook

...Country Notebook: France Political: France has a semi-presidential system. The president functions as the head of the state and the election is every five years. The presidential candidate needs to obtain a nationwide majority of non-blank votes at either one of the rounds to make sure that is supported by at least half of the voting population. When the President’s political opponents control the parliament, the President’s dominance is severely limited. There is also a Prime Minister that is the head of the government and is in charge of all the domestic policy. The Prime Minister is nominated by the majority party or coalition in the National Assembly and appointed by the President for an indefinite term.
