Integrating an Efficient ERP System to introduce virtual billing and Inventory Management at Penske Truck Rental
Proposal
Topic
This proposal will introduce the integration of efficient billing and inventory maintenance throughout Penske Truck Rental, the impact it will have in comparison to current operations, and proposes a solution. Penske sustains multiple ERP systems (RentalNet, ServiceNet, AS400, etc.) as well as maintains physical copies of inbound and outbound vehicle inspections. Throughout all the divisions, this standard has led to an absence of IT costs as the individual systems are not responsible for storing data significant to the lifespan of the vehicles as it relates to damages. Financial records are not readily accessible to consumers as data is only stored in a system manageable through Penske employees. These seemingly minor details promotes the absenteeism of technology. Incorporating the use of a more efficient ERP system in a cloud computing environment will impact the structure to manage, acquire, and utilize data for billing and operations.
Problem
The business problem to be addressed and solved is how to better utilize IT to reduce responsibility of employee operations, increase awareness of equipment inventory management as well as financial management aspects of Penske Truck Rental.
Approach
Define the margins of the cloud computing systems to determine how to integrate efficient ERP platforms to incorporate IT costs, advance the financial reporting process, and improve upon the operational processes and equipment monitoring efficiencies across the board. Penske Truck Rental employs over 22,000 associates with over 335 locations in Northern America.

...Randa Shafik COLL148 Professor Bell Course Project Proposal My Personal Plan for Success is Based on the Fundamentals of my Role Model, Donald Trump Donald Trump is not only a successful businessman, but is also a role model to most people who aspire to be the best at what they do. As I move forward with my education I look up to him as guide for how I would want to run not only a business, but also any event or occasion that comes up. I choose Mr. Trump not only because he a successful businessman, but he is also a candidate for the 2016 presidential elections taking place now. I look up to Mr. Trump because he is one of the richest businessmen in the world and even though a lot of people do not like him, he still manages to succeed with or without the support of others. I do not always agree with everything he has to say but I respect him because of his lack of political correctness. Some characteristics I love about Mr. Trump are his willing to learn from his mistakes, his “can do it” attitude he doesn’t take no lightly, and his ability to work under pressure. Questions I would love to ask Mr. Donald Trump is how much he makes a week? What are some investments does he have? What is his net worth in a year? What is the biggest threat in your company? And why are you running for president this year of all years? When it comes to Mr. Trump some people call him cut throat with the way he speaks to people, and though I might not agree on all of the......

...David Corvin 9/9/2012 Managerial Appls of Info Tech Prof. Tahereh Daneshi Course Project Proposal Terraforming Domes and the use of Planet Cracker Mining Vessels We live in a world where one of the main threats to our society is diminishing resources and the inevitability of over population. Humans and animals alike multiply at an alarming rate and with the arrivals of new people to this planet there is a need for aggressive expansion for houses, apartments and retail stores. With new expansion comes the need for new oil and gas refineries and nuclear power plant to support the land that will soon be developed. Human civilization has been consuming natural resources at an exponential rate and the threat that we will soon run out is on the back of our minds. With new developments will come new technology and the need to improve on what we currently have. Our planet can only offer us so much and there is still much to be discovered in outer space. There are hundreds of planets that have the ability to sustain life providing certain conditions are met. NASA or National Aeronautics and Space Administration have been in charge of the space program for many years. While they have released this power to the private sector and given those with the resources a chance to go where they have not offers a potential solution. Terraforming (literally, “Earth-shaping”) of a planet, moon, or other body is the process of deliberately modifying its atmosphere, temperature,......

...The importance of corporate communications at Troy Corporation Proposal Topic This proposal discusses the use of good communication at Troy Corporation (Troy), the impact that this has upon effective corporate operations and proposes a solution. The four communication components are encoding, decoding, transmission medium and feedback. Not only is this a potentially inefficient for a corporation, a poor communication system impacts the ability of the employees and management to operate effective, it also causes lost time, value, talent, opportunity and money. Problem Poor communication is more than a common cause of frustration for employees and employers. It also causes a range of negative consequences for a corporation. Barriers to effective communication include choosing the wrong medium for message delivery, overuse of complicated jargon and failing to understand the role emotions play in a message's acceptance. One of the most dangerous aspects of poor communication, as well as one of the most overlooked, is failing to listen. Approach First Troy must determine exactly where the communication disconnect has been or is being made fortunately; business communication skills can be learned. Even better, they can be enhanced throughout a career. General Benefits There’s no doubt that communication is the basis for every aspect of business. ... Infrared barcode readers and RFID sensors are placed strategically above the boxes to read the destination information as they travel on the conveyor belt. Automated arms are attached to the master conveyor belt system to divert packages (according to destination), off the master conveyor belt to the selected receiving area. The packages are then ready to be reloaded on transportation to reach their final destinations. This process will eliminate a major portion of manual labor from the manual package process system. In the manual system there are 4 tiers of sorters. The first level of sorters is at inbound traffic, second is to sort by country and state, the third breakdown is a sort by zip code, and last is the outbound sort. This proposal will combine the middle two tiers of sort labor where the majority of labor exists.   Alternatives There are not many alternatives left to choose from other than to continue with the present technology and hope for the best. Or, continue investing in information technology without investing in structural and behavioral change. Either of these alternatives will not solve the issue of an overloaded processing system. If the present system continues it won’t be long before maintenance fees rise along with safety concerns. It is admirable that FedEx has continued to modernize their information technology. It is just as important to use that technology to its fullest advantage. With wireless technology the majority of the package...

...OB 591: Leadership and Organizational Behavior Project Proposal My paper will focus on the lack of morale within my last unit I was assigned to in the Marine Corps. Overview of Inspector-Instructor Staff, 4th Landing Support Battalion The Inspector-Instructor Staff (I-I), 4th Landing Support Battalion (LSB) is a unit of approximately 35-40 active duty and reserve United States Marines brought together to support the mission of 4th LSB which is a solely reserve Battalion. The mission of 4th LSB is “to conduct landing support operations in support of the Marine Air to Ground Task Force (MAGTF) in order to enable expeditionary operations ashore and coordinate combat service support to the MAGTF in both a direct and general support relationship” (marines.mil, 2012). As previously mentioned the I-I staff is the active duty backbone of 4th LSB. Orders to I-I duty are normally reserved for the best and brightest in the Marine Corps and are given as incentives to those who have two or more combat deployments in order to give the Marines a break from the Fleet Marine Force operational tempo. Our main focus on I-I duty is supporting our reserve counterparts, public appearances for the Marine Corps whether it be Toys for Tots, Color Guard duties, as well as funeral details among others. I-I duty can be very busy, or it can be very boring depending on the time of year. My position on the I-I staff was that of the Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) Manager...
