Dearest Walter,
I’m writing to you today with a cup of tea by my side to let you know that I am safe in London. I do not want to discuss much about myself, likewise what I am doing; I want to discuss how Laura is. After I had the message about my letter being delivered to Laura and her not wanting to respond, I felt I ought to write to you. Hearing nothing after I have sent every one of those letters leaves me in the dark.
I hope Walter, to not patronise you with this letter nevertheless I feel as though I have to get someone to articulate to Laura that I’m well. Her natural sensitiveness makes me hesitate to write to Laura once more. I do hope that she will find enough courage to compose me back a letter as not only does she needs to know I’m adequate; I need her to certify the same. By Laura not replying I hope I have not misunderstood her silence in thinking she is infuriated with me. I miss her writing to me, of her own thoughts and impressions, amid all the wonders she has seen.
I hope you can comprehend my reasoning for leaving you and Laura. I realise it was a selfish act. Walter, as I write this letter to you and my darling sister; I think of Laura sobbing which seems to tear me to pieces. You realise Walter my tears are like mens for they do not flow as easily as they ought.
In the year I spent helping you with your children, and situated by the fire reading stories, I learnt two very knowledgeable pieces of information. Firstly, you and my sister are exceptional parents, you are bringing your children up to be individuals; I mean their certainly one of a kind. Secondly, you have a very balanced marriage. I realise that all marriages should be like this.
Laura doesn’t seem to be bothered by men, an example of which is shown when she married Sir Percival for our father, I never would promise such a high order for my father especially when I know he would not have withheld such a life changing promise for myself or Laura.
Walter I have joined the suffragettes. I’m in London, this time on my own and not with Mrs.Vesey. We believe in equal right for men and women. These women, they believe the same as I, that no man under heaven deserves these sacrifices from women.
I have a voice Walter.
Today I went to a rally. The excitement burst from my body but tell Laura not to worry; we campaigned peacefully, there was no trouble as Mrs Fawcett addressed us to be as quiet as we could possibly be. The women looked mesmerising in their lengthy dresses, the colours of bright white and green shone in the sea of women. The smell of all their bouquet made my nose sniffle with delight. The touch of the wooden plaque almost delivering splinters in your fingers demonstrated meaningful messages. “Women deserve rights!” they marked boldly. I would’ve hoped this could have completed our fight for equality straight away but it hasn’t. There’s a lot of work to do here so with great regret I need to tell you, I’m staying for a while longer.
We both know Walter, that I’m better alone.
I am free by myself.
I am boundless by myself.
I am myself.
I regret not being there for you and Laura; ever so much. After I divulged to you that was leaving I did grasp that Laura would become worried, I know her so well and I realise how upset she must be by the fact I departed. It has been two long lonely months since we saw each other. I will come and visit as soon as I have finished large scaled issues here. Will you let Laura know I am hopeful we won’t be here much longer?
Lastly Walter, I hope you’re well. I want you to send the children my love and my deepest, sincerest apology for not being there at this present moment, if Laura hasn’t done so already. Show no remorse in showing her this letter as after the last letter I sent, I did not get a response.
I hope to hear from you soon, Walter. Take care of yourself and your family.
Sending all my love,
Marian.

Creative Technology will go on to dominate this market throughout the 1990s and was rarely challenged, with the Sound Blasters representing 70% of revenue at one point. Creative Destruction

...Assignment #1 “Creative Destruction” 1) Describe the process of creative destruction in your words An essential feature of capitalism, creative destruction is a continuous process characterized by moments of radical innovation in products, production methods, organizational structures and markets that provide decisive advantages over legacy operations. This disrupts and fundamentally changes established industries, with the resulting efficiencies increasing the productive capacity of the economy. Even during the periods of comparative quiet that separate these rushes of innovation, creative destruction is still active as the results of previous innovations are absorbed and assimilated into the economy. The nature of creative destruction requires that the trajectory of the capitalist system is analyzed over the long run, as opposed to at a single point in time. In summary, creative destruction is the process whereby old economic systems are destroyed and replaced by decisively more efficient structures. 2) Explain how the typical entrepreneur behaves according to Schumpeter. What objective is he following? The typical entrepreneur is the businessman who is disciplined by the constant threat of future competition. He understands the process of creative destruction and the precarious nature of his present position and therefore, regardless of his current competitive landscape, his behavior approximates that of a firm engaged in perfect competition. This contrasts......

Are there ways of going beyond copyright when it comes to promoting and sharing original work and content online? Yes, think of Creative Commons, which has been relaunched in India. The multiple options available these days for sharing content using the range of licences that are being promoted in the Creative Commons domain were in focus at the recent relaunch of Creative Commons India. The Creative Commons(CC) licenses, which provide more options compared to the traditional copyright licence for sharing creative work and digital content, and permit its creators to set the conditions for such sharing, has gained global traction. Compared to the traditional copyright licence, which is very restrictive in nature, CC licenses enable authors fine-grained ways of deciding on the rights they......

Creative Thinking Essay

...Through the activity, I realized how silly it was to work against my usual steps based methodology in order to create a creative collage. My initial intention of going without a plan was to not limit myself within the boundaries of an outline so that I can freely decide on materials that I think would fit in my collage. This resulted in me just blindly looking for images that would represent MediaCorp but do not portray the lack of creativity in the industry. Reflecting on it, I could have used the systematic approach in a way that would not limit my material gathering. Creativity is an abstract topic and to represent it in a collage would be difficult. By brain storming and coming up with a plan on how to represent the topic, I could have saved time on the search for new cut outs half way through the collage making. Having a plan beforehand will not limit the materials that I can gather as long as I do not rigidly follow the plan down to every single detail but instead use it as a guideline. The efficiency enhancing methodologies do not limit creativity, most of the time it is the wrong usage of such methods that is the culprit. This point is supported by an interview with Dr. Larry Wending, vice president of the 3M’s research department, made in a Business Week article by Brian Hindo (2007). "In some cases in the lab it made sense, but in other cases, people were going around dreaming up green-belt programs to fill their quota of green-belt programs for that time...

Creativity and the Creative Process

...Creativity and the Creative Process Denethri Arbor Instructor: Emily Benson ENG 125 Introduction to Literature December 16, 2013 Whether expressed as an awe-inspiring painting, a perfectly executed sculpture or an artfully expressive phrase, humanity throughout history has demonstrated a driving internal desire to discover some form of creative outlet. Studying several of these expressions throughout several culture around the world and throughout history illustrates that these instances of spontaneous, creative expression are usually associated in some way with exploring human experience. Even though they don't often speak directly to the concept of creativity or its development, it is clear that these artists of various types have engaged in a great deal of thought and practice in order to hone their skills and most accurately convey the ideas in their heads. Whether it is intended as a matter of discussion or are simply expressing their innovative spark, evidence of the human mind's impulse to create something new exists in every creative pursuit you may care to mention, from fine art to graffiti, from scribbles on a napkin to polished prose or poetry. “Creativity involves thinking that is aimed at producing ideas or products that are relatively novel, and that are, in some respect, compelling … is neither wholly domain specific nor wholly domain general ... What Is Creative Writing

...As for me, creative writing is a piece of art expression, very subjective, which is not dull and normal literature like news article or academic essay. If you ask how to write creatively, I would say inspiration can basis from anywhere, anything and anyone. Yet, it is not purely about thinking ‘outside of the box’ and writing something exciting. Creative writing is a style of writing mostly appears in feature stories, both fiction and non-fiction work. Writers need to generate their expression, maybe a viewpoint, an analysis and a story, from their inner-person meaning by their self of feelings, emotion, thoughts, opinion, imagination and even life experiences. It is a freedom writing, however, all should be a very original composition. Take an instance of our British leading fantasy novelist J.K.Rowling and her creativity of ‘Harry Potter’ series. The character Harry Potter is her sudden inspiration in 1990, when she was on the train to London, suddenly came up an idea to write a story of a little boy gets into a wizard school for study. It looks seems a children’s novel, while behind the wizards and magic adventures, there is deep moral fable, full of struggling between good and evil, life and death, right and wrong, love and hate, and that’s reflects Rowling’s life spiritual pathway and even her ideal of heroic characters. Other than fiction story, creative writing includes variety of its genres. It broadly uses in creative industry in order to express in kinds of......

Creative Writing Piece

...English Writing Piece Some say when a tear falls out of your left eye first its joy, and if its your right eye its pain. Jane Saunders stood despondent amidst the crowd of people and vehicles. Her surrounding appeared as if all sound had been muted, all she heard were the so familiar voices in her head. The elderly woman next to her smiled innocently to her, Jane opened her mouth but her voice had abandoned her, as if she had been impaled in the throat. Foul air from the rusty vehicles touched the tip of her tongue. The clouds were low and heavy, the sunless sky seemed more dismal than usual. The dingy taxi rank where she hunched housed scents that would make most people wince, but not Jane, she barely even noticed it. All she smelt were the familiar scents to her, the damp dirty scent of the taxi rank, smelt to her like freshly baked muffins in the morning, among all the cheap mix of deodorants and aftershaves all she smelt was the rich essence of apricot she remembered so clearly. Her clothes were getting heavy and uncomfortable, her new shoes were now enveloped in a layer of grime, while her arms dangled uselessly at her sides. A cold breeze blew against her skin and sent a chill down her spine, the was no warmth of the sun to comfort her, just the memories she held so dear. Shutting her bright blue eyes tight, she felt a stream of warmth roll down her right cheek. ...

Creative Problem Solving

...Venkata Aswini Koyya DBU ID #740048 Facilitation Assignment Creative Problem Solving For Marketing Decisions Professor: Dr. Toni Mcnutt Summary about the organization and selected group members: I work as a project lead assistant (Intern) in MoneyGram International Company (MGI). My role is to lead lots of workshops and project meetings. To make our employees actively participate and generate ideas, every week we are given a task to deal with. This week we were supposed to think of a ‘pen’ produced by MGI only. So I used this as an opportunity to do the facilitation amongst the group. The participants were Dana Loyd, Alex Fields and Amy Halbrook, they are my team members too. These three people are the first ones every time to respond actively and to offer good suggestions usually in the team. I thought it would be great as a facilitator to know and see how they participate in these types of experiments. Selected Tools and WHY: The tools selected were SCAMPER and Brainstorming with post-its. To start with, we considered to take an existing product. This was a product which we wish to enhance, which we thought would be a favorable starting point for later development. We pose questions pertaining to the product we identified, utilizing the mnemonic for guidance. 1. Substitute- Replace nib with knife, ink with iron? 2. Combine- Holding with opening, writing with cutting. 3. Adapt- Use the pen top as a container. 4. Modify/Distort- Body can be made flexible. 5...

Creative Use of Techniques Usually Associated with Fiction

...Creative use of Techniques usually Associated with Fiction In both the two articles, the authors employ creative nonfiction to discuss the death of Aiyana and the rape of Officer Blumer. The situations in both the articles are real occurrence, but the storyline appears as an imaginary plot. Ultimately, the two essays convey the information in a way that makes it appear as fiction. The paper seeks to identify the creative use of techniques usually associated with fiction that are involved in the story development of these two articles. Some of these techniques include the use of subjective, personal voice, the development of strong characters and the creation of tension and suspense. In both the two articles, the authors use subjective journalism where they involve their views into conveying the reality in a way that they want to manipulate the readers. In an article by Sabrina Rubin, the author describes how Rebecca Blumer was raped by three army men. The military officers did not treat this case kindly as they discouraged her from asking for a rape kit and failed to collect forensic evidence. Finally, her skyrocketing military job came to an end. Although it may be a factual narrative, the author reports only one side of the story; about the military’s culture of rape. Consequently, Rebecca allegations could have been a hoax. On the other hand, Charlie, the author of “What Killed Jones?” is also subjective especially where he blames abject poverty on the death of a young......

Personal Statement - English Literature and Creative Writing

...Personal Statement I am drawn to study English Literature and Creative writing because I am passionate about and committed to reading and writing. I feel that a structured programme of study is imperative for me to achieve my long-term goal of establishing a successful and varied career as a writer. I know that the path I have chosen will often be difficult to walk but I have already taken a step toward its end by starting an Access course. Throughout my short time on the Access course I have gained confidence in my speaking skills. For example, during a recent discussion on gender and relationships in a graded English discussion I raised a point that the teacher had not thought of and was praised for doing so - this taught me that by pushing myself beyond my comfort zone by sharing my ideas and opinions I will be able to achieve my goals. I know that with the skills taught on the Access course I will be able to achieve my goal of studying and completing a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. The Access course has taught me the importance of self-reflection and criticism through keeping a reflective log which documents my progress, obstacles and goals. I have learnt that I am able to be objective when analysing my own work and performance; this skill has helped me to realise that in order to improve my work I have to be critical of myself and be able to accept criticism from others, I feel that this skill will prepare me for the competitive world of......

...ugfgfhhjjkk hlklgfgfCreative Toys Case Creative Toys Inc. 1. If Inventory were to be written down in the 4th quarter instead of the 2nd quarter, it could cause the company to be compromised. One of the reasons that the allowance occurs in the 2nd quarter is because Browne realizes that it will make expenses appear too high, but, it will reduce the impact of the lack of future sales. However, if inventory were established in the 4th quarter, where they are expected to increase quite a bit, the transition would be easier. This is the reasoning behind Gurchick’s insistence of waiting for the 4th quarter. On the down side, if sales do not increase as expected, the company would be in substantial trouble. They will have a great deal of over stated income, which will be caught by auditors. They will make adjusting journal entries for this, which will decrease net income. If this decrease is too substantial then the books will be in the negative. Browne understands that the Chatter Chick was over produced, and is prepared to deal with the consequence. Gurchick prefers to take a gamble and hope for the best. 2. The corporate culture at Creative Toys is probably quite tense at this point. With Browne and Gurchick disagreeing over the course of action, the employees at this point are most likely wondering what the outcome of the decrease in demand will be and whether the company will be able to make it through this. I think that everyone is probably quite worried and tense at......
