My decision to submit my application to Penn Nursing’s CRNA program is a based on several important factors. My expedition into healthcare started with the goal to become an anesthetist. The goal has remained the same, however the motivation behind obtaining that goal has evolved to strengthen my reasoning for striving to practice anesthesia. Progression towards becoming a CRNA has afforded me the opportunity to cultivate my own personal attributes, inside and outside of the clinical realm, as well as help critically ill patients. Furthermore, Penn’s CRNA program is steeped in recognition thus allowing me to fulfill my desire to be part of a program on the forefront of nurse anesthesia education. Contributing to Penn’s CRNA program through hard work and dedication while together bringing comfort to countless patients is my next career goal.
So far, what I have learned along the way to become a CRNA has molded my motivation to provide anesthesia. Initially I was drawn to anesthesia based on pure fascination. The culmination of working hard to obtain my accelerated BSN, developing grit in the CVTICU, and honing my self motivation to pass the CCRN contribute to my confidence that I am prepared to become an SRNA at Penn. I did not come this far alone as my family, coworkers, and the patients I have taken care of have helped to shape me into the capable healthcare provider I am today. Now I truly feel more ready than ever to take the next step in my career, studying the art of anesthesia at
