This assignment will discuss how members of staff at nurseries can work together to create a positive ethos by providing a safe, secure and happy environment for children. It will also look at how staff can support children’s progression by meeting their individual needs at different stages of their development and how sometimes it may be in the best interests of the child for settings to work in partnership with external agencies to ensure children receive the best out of their experience at nursery.

Demonstrating a positive ethos right from the beginning within childcare settings is of paramount importance, this is in order for the environment and the individuals working within that environment appeal to service users, including parents of the young children. Before any child is admitted to the Cylch Meithrin setting their parents/ guardians are provided with the handbook (Appendix 1) of the setting which contains useful information regarding the settings aims and objectives for the learning and development of children who attend, details of staff members involved with the Cylch, ages of children who attend, fees and their policies and procedures which include, child protection, collection of children, fire drill, accidents and administering …show more content…
