Text 1 Summary:
The text is about the man Tal Ben-Shahar who talks about happiness. How that he for five years had trained so hard to play in the Israeli Nationals squash championship, and won. Although it gave him immediately satisfaction and he were happy, then after a while, the happiness slowly fainted away. He questioned why only hours after his big win, why he is not happy anymore. He tries to convince himself that the feeling he has is only, the temporary low following an overwhelming high. As the mouth goes by, he finds that it is not. He then realize that he has to think different on happiness. He then surges obsessed after the answer to the question: where to find lasting happiness. His conclusion is “We can experience sadness at times and still enjoy overall happiness”

Text 2 outline:
You cannot buy happiness; you can buy the latest smartphone, the newest car etc. However, that happy feeling, that wound last. Michael Crichton says “If you want to be happy, forget yourself” he claims that people that lives for others and dedicated their lives to the more unfortunate is often very happy. You have to get busy in life in order to live it, you have to forget your own self-importance, and help others, before you can help yourself. The key to happiness is not materiel things. If we look at the first surveys of happiness, they started in 1946, and then we can see that people actually become more and unhappy, in the progress of the technology. Japan’s economy were completely transformed, as the nation went from a low cost supplier of cheap manufactured goods to what is perhaps the world’s most technologically sophisticated society. Yet the Japanese are no happier now than they were in the 1960’s. However, there is one group, of people in the world, which seems composedly sunny. The Amish, their depression rates are insignificantly low, compared to the rest of the society. Amish people do without most of what we think as modern technology. They do not have cars or internet. Maybe we can let that be a reminder to us that we do not need all that technology to make us happy, we have to surge in our self to find happiness, and not let the newest cellphone define who we are.

Text 3 Comment:

“In fact, the more attention you lavish on yourself, the more unhappy you become” It’s pretty basic you do not need to make yourself another person that you actually are, you don’t need to have sex in a hotel room, in some luxury resort in Mexico, for the whole world to see. You cannot depend on other people to make you happy, if you are depending on others praise to make you happy, you are not living right.
Mainly because you cannot relay on that the people, which mostly give you that sort of attention always will be there when you need it. You have to make yourself a better person to be happy.

Text 4 Article:
Technology is great, it has given us easy ways to communicate, and it makes some jobs a lot easier, for example the medical industry, MRI, CT, radiation to cancer patients, you name it, all that technology makes that industry rich in so many ways. However all the new technology makes our normal daily routine so much stressful, we have to check our Emails all the time, maybe there are news from work that we have to address. We cannot put our cellphones on silent, heaven forbid if we get a text message and did not reply within a few seconds. If we put the smartphone away, how should we play candy crush? The human species is way to addicted to technology, what if we were ripped from all that, what if the world ended up like “ The walking dead” without the flesh-eating zombies off course, now we are just technology zombies. We do not get our sleep because we have to check Facebook, twitter or Instagram. Although that studies shows that we would be happier without all the technology, then maybe, just maybe, we sometimes have to unplug ourselves from the big technology thing, and just live.

...Germany Culture Paper Michelle Hicks EDF 2085 Professor Blaine November 14, 2012 History The most important facts that can be found about Germany are connected to wars. The World Wars were a disaster for Germany. It led to the divide of Germany. One of the major theme of German history, according to William Spencer (1994) is division. This seems to be a common occurrence but doesn’t represent a departure from German history. Spencer noted that Germany has had difficulty during its 2000 year history in becoming a nation-state and maintaining that form, even with the development of a strong ethnic and national identity. The Holy Roman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire have been apart of Germany. Germany in its early history resisted being taken over by the Roman Empire. In 1871, a separate German Empire was created but not until Bismarck. The German state remained even after losing in World War I. Germany became two separate entities after World War II including the representation of the opposite hegemonies which was directed by the United States and the Soviet Union. (Germany then and now, 1994) Politics Germany started out as tribes but now has the third largest economy in the world and the largest in Europe. The country went through several rulers or ruling parties. Germany has become a federal, parliamentary, representative...

Marketing Channels

...IMC Exam 1. Imagine that ORANA wishes to enter a new national market. Explain what considerations ORANA should have, when choosing between, for example, Peru or New Zealand. Entering a new market is an important decision, so ORANA has to consider many aspects carefully before making the decision on which country to enter. According to the Market-based view a company which wishes to enter a new market has to consider market conditions of the nation. The theory states that the competitive advantage comes from the market itself and the external environment of the firm. The company has to find the market from where it can gain competitive advantage. For deciding on which market to enter, Porter five forces, as a framework for industry analysis can be a great help. This framework is very useful when it comes to business strategy development. Porter says that the nature and degree of competition depends on these five forces: threat of new entrants, bargaining power of customers, bargaining power of suppliers, threat of substitute products or services and the intensity of competitive rivalry (Porter, 1979). To enter into a new market, ORANA has to be aware of the current market situation and the state of the competition. The Danish manufacturer has to make a research on these five forces and get to know the more they can about the state of the competition. To get the proper information they have to make market research, going to the field or find a partner from Peru and New...

Friendship

...Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people. Friendship is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an association. Friendship has been studied in academic fields such as sociology, social psychology, anthropology, and philosophy. Various academic theories of friendship have been proposed, including social exchange theory, equity theory, relational dialectics, and attachment styles. A World Happiness Database study found that people with close friendships are happier. Although there are many forms of friendship, some of which may vary from place to place, certain characteristics are present in many types of friendship. Such characteristics include affection, sympathy, empathy, honesty, altruism, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other's company, trust, and the ability to be oneself, express one's feelings, and make mistakes without fear of judgment from the friend. While there is no practical limit on what types of people can form a friendship, friends tend to share common backgrounds, occupations, or interests, and have similar demographics. THE DEVELOPMENT STAGES OF FRIENDSHIP Developmental Psychology In the typical sequence of an individual's emotional development, friendships come after parental bonding and before pair bonding. In the intervening period between the end of early childhood and the onset of full adulthood, friendships are often the most important relationships in the emotional life of the adolescent, and...

Chapter 3 Selecting and Using Assessments

...CHAPTER 3 SELECTING AND USING ASSESSMENTS Introduction This chapter will address three issues: (a) the institutional assessment needs of workforce development organizations, (b) the assessment needs of individual youth to help make informed choices about their careers, and (c) the practical needs of practitioners for information about how to select and use different assessment tools. At the end of this chapter, Exhibit 3.1 contains information that can be used to help with the selection and use of assessments, including a directory of commonly used published tests. Meeting Institutional Assessment Needs Agencies and organizations in the workforce system use assessments to meet institutional needs in two ways-to determine a youth's eligibility for services and to document achievement of program goals by assessing the progress of program participants. The number of participants served and achievement of program goals can impact the amount of funding an organization receives. Funding for the youth programs considered in this guide may come from the Department of Education, the Department of Labor, other federal agencies, states, local governmental agencies, or a combination of these. Table 1.2 in Chapter 1 summarizes the eligibility and assessment requirements of IDEA, WIA Title I, and the Rehabilitation Act. More specific information on assessments mandated or permitted by several federal funding sources may be found in Appendix A. (Mandated assessments are...
