Abstract Databases are critical to today’s business. America needs to be sure that its stored information is secure. The days when personal computers were used as a storage device are gone. Today companies have networks composed of servers capable of storing millions of bits of data on their systems. Companies must be able to understand database fundamentals when they decide what database systems they need. When a company obtains data, it must be organized in a readable format so that company personnel can access it from their computers, as it is needed. Databases have become very common in the workplace today. Many organizations use databases to keep track of payroll, vacation time, supply inventories, and other information and for many other tasks too numerous to include in this abstract. Business use database anytime they have large amounts of data they need to search and categorized, so that it can be access later for other uses.

In designing and determining the purpose of a database there are two key principles, which need to be considered. The first is duplication of information and the second is the correctness or quality of that information. Duplicate information must be minimized or avoided because it wastes space, increases errors and creates inconsistencies. The second principle, correctness, involves making sure data is entered correctly otherwise any queries and reports generated from the information will also contain incorrect information. Therefore, to ensure their database is good the company must make sure that the data is broken into subject-based tables so that duplicate data can be minimized. They also must make sure that the correct keys are put in place so that the information in the tables can be accessed and retrieved and ensure its accuracy. This is why performing quality checks and understanding. This is why performing quality checks and understanding the purpose of the database is important, as is how the company expects to use the data and who will have access to it.

Database in the organization
When I worked at NAS North Island in Code HS-10, our maintenance department used Microsoft (MS) Access for its database, and other departments used Microsoft Office 2007. What is Microsoft Access and how simple is it to use it? First, it organizes the information the information by putting it into relational tables; these consist of rows and columns. Each column is composed of fields and characters. Our maintenance departments relied on MS Access database to keep track of data relating to when planes were operational or required maintenance, and when they need new parts, or when parts are delivered and ready for testing. Initially they kept track of what parts came in and went out by using paper matrices. Doing it this way was time consuming and became impractical for our personnel to do. Once the new MS Access system was set up people requiring the proper permission to use the database were established. In addition, other users could easily see what parts needed to be ordered that day or week. Our administration department used Microsoft Office 2007 to create briefs, presentations, develop research tools, daily reports. Most importantly, it was used to communicate instantly with each other via email and instant messaging, making our communication rapid and effective. It is this author opinion that without these important applications a company cannot operate properly and succeed. Existence of Database Databases will continue to exit and expand as business become aware of the importance of their data and good records management. The need for database is well known and understood, and you can be sure they will be around for more years. Many companies database for storing internal information, but other companies have also been able to earn revenue by providing database management services. In addition, their clients use these technology businesses because they depend on the accuracy of their database information and the fact that it kept current. So possessing the proper database management service is very important. Conclusion In conclusion, database management services today are expanding and we know that technology has changed radically over the years. As your business is expanding, if you fail to keep your database management service up to date eventually it will be inadequate for your requirements and will no longer meet your needs. You will be unable to keep up with the growing demands of your clients and will not be able to meet their needs. The future calls for the efficient handling of sophisticated web serving and object type oriented databases, especially as the demand to store graphical and object type data ramps up.
