In Team A’s scenario, the independent variable consists of the age group of respondents measured from Generation X,Y, and Baby Boomers, while the dependent variable measures the generated sales from each of the aforementioned groups. It is extremely important to use the proper population and determine the accurate size. Once the population has been identified it is then necessary to downsize the population into a specific sample group. Addressing the population, sample, validity, ethical concerns, and data collection will create a detailed plan in which to follow during the research process. Customers are the gauge and guide in any business therefore when conducting survey one must ensure that the information is accurate; and seeks to refute any opposing idea. Based on the finding management will be able to make decisions that derives from the customer base. The grass roots customers are the ones that will assist in getting the message out, the power of the consumer should never be taken for granted. Baby boomers are fiercely brand loyal and Drink Up became part of their identity. The soft drink was sold on the premise of making them happy, evoking a smile, it was the American way. Over the years cokes sales have been falling off due to their consumer base being more health conscious. According to (Esterl 2011) "About 60% of Drink Up's revenue in the U.S. is derived from carbonated soft drinks, compared with about a quarter at PepsiCo." Population Size
Focusing on the data from, the population size is to find out from Generation X, Y and Baby- boomers from universities and schools how much sales they generate for the beverage company. There is no possible way to sample the entire population, however; a good sample and accurate sample from a percentage of the population with the most accurate information is necessary for unbiased data. First, determining how many respondents should the sample consist of? Using a correct sample size is crucial for any research. This sample size is chosen to represent a good portion of the total population was 8,000.

The target population and brief reasoning
Every age group drinks beverages, some more than others. Drink Up/Pepsi used secondary data exploration and started with its own data archives (Cooper 2014). Previous studies show the Generation Y, consumes more of Pepsi than other age groups. This information is needed to establish the purchasing behavior/sales relationship or pattern between Drink Up/Pepsi consumption and the different age groups. These variables were used to determine if the sales increase was due to which generation. The population generation Y largely consumes Pepsi (NY Times). Sampling is a great technique and it can be incorporated into any type business model. New product innovations, discontinuation of a product line, increase in the sales price of a product, are all decisions that are based on research that a company conducts to determine the best course of action to take thereby allowing it to increase its revenue base. A survey will also be conducting to ensure the participants are eligible to take part in our focus group. The survey will consist of the following questions: 1. What is you sex? A. Male B. Female 2. What are your yearly earnings? 3. Were you born between 1946 and 1980? 4. Do you purchase soda products? 5. Have you tried any Drink-Up products? If not, are you willing to try our products? 6. Are you willing to switch products if Drink-Up’s overall quality, quantity, and price beat competitors?
The organization has ensured that the questionnaire will measure what it is intended to measure, therefore achieving validity. Reliability ensures that the same results will be achieved if repeated.

(Be sure to cite the article which must be from one of AIU’s full-text databases) Paragraph 2: Using the knowledge you gained from the textbook, discuss the pros and cons of the data collection method. (Cite the textbook) Paragraph 3: Describe a different data collection method used in another study. (Be sure to cite the article which must be from one of AIU’s full-text databases) Paragraph 4: Again, using the knowledge you learned from the textbook, discuss the pros and cons of the data collection method. (Cite the textbook) In this discussion I will give a brief summary on two types of data collection methods and give examples of pros and cons for each method. OBSERVATIONAL STUDY Observational study is a method of data collection that involves a process of watching any given type of situation and recording the data that is observed. Depending on how and what data is being observed depends on the type of tool the researcher will want to use in order to collect their information. The researcher conducting this type of study is a passive observer and does not tamper in any way with the variable of interest or any factors that may affect it. When recording observation data, you have to remember that...

People were in need of larger vehicles to accommodate their entire family. This was not just for domestic vehicles this also included foreign vehicle. With so many people interested in purchasing the SUV’s, this led to other car companies designing more comfortable, larger vehicles. Another peer-reviewed article was in regards to the searching strategies people used before actually purchasing a new vehicle. Not everyone can walk into a dealership and know exactly what they are looking for in their price range and it is readily available. That is why most people before purchasing a vehicle use a strategy before purchasing. Not everyone’s search strategies are the same, not everyone is looking for the exact type of vehicle. Some automobile companies sent out surveys to some of their customers for a 3 month span to see how satisfied they were with the new vehicles and what the new vehicle may not have had that the consumer would have liked. When the surveys were returned they categorized the responses to see where improvements could be made to accommodate more people. Data Collection

...3RAI Activity 1 It is essential that organisations collect HR and learning and development data. By collecting it on a company’s workforce, HR departments are able to analyse the data and take action to benefit the whole organisation. Reasons why organisation collect data: * Organisations collect data to evaluate performance. Organisational performance is linked to the Quality of people that an organisation employs and what they do at work. You can have the best equipment and the best up-to-date processes, but if you don’t have the right number of people, who knows their job and are performing well at work, the organisation will not function properly. * Legal requirements. To prove that all the employees is eligible to work in UK. To prove that the organisation is hiring at an equal opportunity standard. Also, to manage employees payroll. Types of data to be collected * Labour turnover. Organisations collect this data to count and analyse the percentage of staff that leaves in a year. If the figure you get is quite big, then, clearly something is not right. Decisions has to be made and actions has to be taken. * Exit interview information. I believe it is quite useful and important to do understand why people are leaving. * Staff contact details. To ensure HR department or/and line manager can get in touch with the employee.
