Q2: How are database application systems developed? A database application system consists of a database, a DBMS, and one or more database applications. A database application consists of forms, reports, queries, and possibly application programs. A database application system encompasses one or more application programs and works at a more macro level; application programs, on the other hand, focus on smaller components and work on smaller pieces of data management. The major steps in developing an application system are to interview users and develop requirements for the new system; this includes analyzing existing forms, reports, queries, and other user activities, as well as determining the need for new forms, reports, and queries. They can then use this to create a data model (logical representation of the structure of the data), which is then transformed into a database design. After that, the design is implemented in a database, which is then filled with user data. Users are especially important in the first step of the process, where incorrect, insufficient, or inaccurate user input will result in a poorly designed database that will not fill the voids of current systems.

Q5: What is the users’ role? The major role for users in the development state is in the first step; users are the final judges as to what data the database should contain and how the records in that database should be related to one another. During the data modeling stage, the structure can easily be changed; changing a relationship from 1:N to N:M is simply a matter of changing the 1:N notation to N:M. Once the database has been constructed, however, making that same change means weeks of work. All the data would need to be changed individually, as well as the application components. This illustrates how crucial it is to construct the database the correct way the first

We started the project by identifying aims and goals such as understanding what database is.We calculated in detail and understood and researched on database understood database used by ORACLE. INTRODUCTION The definition of a database is a structured collection of records or data that is stored in a computer system. In order for a database to be truly functional, it must not only store large amounts of records well, but be accessed easily. In addition, new information and changes should also be fairly easy to input. In order to have a highly efficient database system, you need to incorporate a program that manages the queries and information stored on the system. This is usually referred to as DBMS or a Database Management System. Besides these features, all databases that are created should be built with high data integrity and the ability to recover data if hardware fails. (What is a Database?, 2010) AIM The aim of the study is many folded such as, understanding database, go in detail and understand and research on database, understand the technology used by ORACLE, derive conclusions on the development in the field of database. LIMITATIONS This study is descriptive in nature and the research is done on published secondary materials. Logical conclusions are made based on our experience and...

...the human resources department in combination with the Payroll Department. The deficiency is that currently employees manually have to record timesheets, have them reviewed by the Store Manager, faxed to Payroll and finally entered by hand into the Payroll System. To address this deficiency it has been determined that Kudler Fine Foods needs to implement a web-based timesheet tracker system. To implement any new information technology system in a business environment the entire system must be researched and considered to make the implementation as smooth as possible. In the previous needs document, Kudler Fine Foods was shown to have a need for a new web-based time sheet entry system. The needs documents also explained two use cases on how the technology could be used. The first use case was the timesheet entry. In this use case, the employee would complete a timesheet on the website and submit to store manager for approval. To build this system it is necessary to design throughly the system and account for every issue. Riordan will use the Unified Software Development Process (USDP) to design the system (www.technologyuk.net). USDP has four phases that must be accomplished to produce a functional application system. The first phase is called Inception. During this phase Riordan the consultant will determine the objective of the project and a time for completion. The next phase is the...

Telecom Connections

... 1. INTRODUCTION Telecom Connections is a web based application through which user can effectively use the benefits of Telephone Provider. We have analyzed the needs of the users, and thus developed a web based application, for providing telephone connections and associated services online. Because now a days people became so busy with their work and they don’t want to waste their time by going and waiting for long time or waiting in a queue for applying for new connections or to get their bills or to give the complaints regarding the service. Also they are not sure whether waiting for that much time , they will get their turn or not. If so they will get out with frustration .By considering all this issues associated with the manual process we have developed a web application for the telecom users , where in the user can apply for new connections online , can view the bill status online , can send the feedback and do complaints regarding the service provided by the telecom company. 1. PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT: We are going to build an automated system where user can online apply for phone connections and they can view their telephone bills and they can also post the complaints details. There is now an identifiable trend in industry toward downsizing that is replacing expensive mainframe computers with more cost-effective networks of personal computer that achieve the same or even better results. This trend has given rise to the architecture of the Client/Server Computing. The term Client/Server was first used in the 1980s in reference to personal computers on a network. The actual Client/Server model started gaining acceptance in the late 1980s. The term Client/Server is used to describe a computing model for the development of computerized systems. This model is based on the distribution of functions between two types of independent and autonomous entities: Server and Client. A Client is any process that request specific services from server processes. A Server is process...
