Bastet, was an Egyptian goddess with a cats head. Bastet was strictly a solar deity until Greeks came along, and influenced the Egyptian society, when she became a lunar goddess due to the Egyptians Bastet, and the Greeks Artemis associating with each other. Dating back to the second dynasty from about 2890-2686 BCE, Bastet was originally seen as a wild desert cat, or a lioness, and became known as a domesticated feline around 1000 BCE. Bastet was one of the “ Daughters of Ra”, which placed her in higher ranks with other goddesses. In addition, Bastet was originally one of the “ Eyes of Ra”, which was the title given to gods called “ Avengers” who would go out and lay waste to the enemies of Egypt and all of the gods.
