Paul Is Dead

...behind them (though many believe Abba ranked most according to theory, the top three highest selling albums in history are The Beatles One, Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album some believe is Led Zeppelin 4 or Zoso, and the one ranking third is Pink Floyd's The Wall). Their style and music is enough to sweep you in, and it's nearly mesmerizing. So this is an Ode, a salute, and one final thanks to The Beatles for changing music forever. Paul is Dead Truth or Hoax? A quick forward, I decided to write this because many of my friends called me a loon for some of the things I do in my liesure time. I want to write this to show them how many possible clues that are on the albums, and I wanted to help use this fame to cash in on the success of my Backmasking essay which is the highest reviewed one yet. Also, this is just as interesting as Backmasking because I was tempted to write a fictional story about this. As a quick reminder, I do believe Paul McCartney is alive, but all of these clues put people in belief of him still being dead. I'll let you all be the judges. If anybody does review this and flames over them believing Paul is alive, at least remember that I believe he is, leave a signed review, and remember that this all for entertainment purposes only. I never do mean to scare people… that's what my horror stories are for! 1969, the impact. In 1969, as explained before in my backmask essay, a man named Tom called into a Detroit talk radio station to warn......

Dead on Target

...Dead on Target (Hardy Boys Casefiles, Case 1) by Franklin W. Dixon Edge Of Your Seat Suspence! The Hardy Boys tangle with an international terrorist killer and a secret government agency called the Network. Personal Review: Dead on Target (Hardy Boys Casefiles, Case 1) by Franklin W. Dixon "Dead on Target" was the beginning of a new era for the Hardy Boys. This is the first volume of the new (in 1991) series "The Hardy Boys Casefiles", and it is a more adult and action packed series than the original series. This is never more evident than the first two pages of the book. Whereas the original series (started in 1927 and it is still running today) would have various plots by criminals, nobody ever seemed to get killed or nothing too serious would ever happen, but "Dead on Target" opens with the killing of Joe Hardy's girlfriend (and sister of good friend Chet) Iola Morton. For a series that has been known for its lack of actual murders of any on screen character, this was a shocking and explosive (no pun intended as it was by a bomb that killed Iola) moment. It marked the different direction that the Casefiles would take the reader, as well as the Hardys, on. A car bomb was the cause of death for Iola Morton. Frank and Joe, as well as Iola and Frank's girlfriend Callie Shaw, were at the mall preparing for a political rally. Iola ends up returning to the Hardys' car to pick up more campaign materials when it explodes, killing her. Joe blames himself because his......

Dead

...Alvin Haskins II Essay 3 Dead Gi’s On Buna Beach In this George Strock’s black and white photograph, Dead GI’s on Buna Beach, 1943, showing three dead, rotting, bodies of American Soldiers lying face down in the sand in Buna Beach. As a result, President Roosevelt decided to lift the censorship that held so many photojournalists photographs out of the media. His desire was for Americans to become more supportive and develop a greater resolve to win the war. This tactic was very successful in enraging the American Public, creating support for the war effort both on American soil and in Europe. “Dead GI’s on Buna Beach” is now well-thought-out to be a war classic. In that September, this photo and other horrific and graphic pictures of WWII were finally appealed by the Office of War. President Roosevelt dreaded that the American community might be growing content about the war and its horrific toll. In the picture, the Americans’ faces were not shown–a practice continued until Korean War to preserve soldiers’ privacy in death. This picture is not just photo of dead American’s, but a photo of dead American’s lying neglected and disregarded in the sands of a foreign country attracted to the pathos of the American community by striking them where it meant most of. They were not just “American Soldiers”, but brave compatriots, brothers, neighbors, fathers, sons, husbands, and friends. Even though black and white was the only thing obtainable during that time, the usage......

...The day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. In the film they also showed famous murals for this occasion such as Diego Rivera’s famous mural dedicated to the day of the dead. Flowers also play a key role on this day; many people use yellow flowers, they say the yellow flowers have the smell of death. Before the event the women prepare food to take to the cemetery for their loved ones that are gone, many believe they come back to cemetery on this day. Though mostly different, a few characteristics of both holidays make them similar. Both Halloween and the Day of the Dead use food as part of the celebration. Halloween involves trick or treating where children knock on doors to receive candy, sweets and treats. Dead Men

You say that we should still the land Till Germany’s overcome; But who is there to argue that Now Pearse is deaf and dumb? And is their logic to outweigh MacDonagh’s bony thumb? How could you dream they’d listen That have an ear alone For those new comrades they have found, Lord Edward and Wolfe Tone, Or meddle with our give and take That converse bone to bone? “Man down, Man down”. A frightened voice screamed from miles away. Another hero gone, I thought silently. I glanced over at Gerry. He stood tall like a man of six foot height as he loaded up the truck ready for battle. His deep blue eyes had dark rings around them which extenuated when he is tired. “See you soon mate”, he limped into the truck drove off. That was the last time I ever saw Gerry again. The missiles struck, screaming in with pinpoint accuracy, bursting with blinding flashes, brighter than a thousand suns. Buildings disintegrated and vanished. Trees and houses exploded into flames. The flames were so fierce that they devoured all the oxygen around them suffocating those people who had sought refuge in deep shelters. The very ground trembled from the mighty screams of those who were attacked or injured. I stayed there in the same......

Is God Dead?

...Aurea C. Florindo-Soares VTTH 203 E Fr. Donohue 1/22/2015 Is God Dead? In religious experience, people usually think that life is surrounded by ordinary and extraordinary things, especially in the stories of Moses and Elijah. As these stories in the bible go along, many times, some people are questioning the existence of God. To prove God’s existence, one should have a strong belief in their religion. As religion teaches, one believes that God dies physically for us on the cross because He sacrifices himself by giving His full love to us. After God arises from the dead three days later, His soul remains alive. That soul exists in order for us to have a better and deeper relationship with God. One believes that God does exist in nature, in the human person, in the church, and everywhere else. What about a person who does not believe in those things? What about a person who has no religious background and believes that God is dead? Each person has a different perspective, understanding, and belief about the existence of God. Whether one realizes or not, this is his or her choice to believe God’s existence. One will use their experiences to believe in God’s presence in their own lives. They can interpret their experiences as happy or sad, depending on who they trust. If this is in a happy way, one will believe God’s existence by saying God is dead physically, but His soul is not dead. He remains within us everywhere and all the time in this world. He helps us when we......

Dead Zone

...Analyzing the Effects of the Mississippi River on The Dead Zones in the Gulf of Mexico Dead zones in the Gulf of Mexico have reached about 8000 square miles. Dead zones are oxygen depleted areas in the ocean in which the levels of oxygen in the water are so low that it cannot sustain sea life. These dead zones are created by water runoff from the mighty Mississippi River. Nutrients in the water that run out into the gulf cause an abundance of algae growth. The alga then dies and as it sinks to the bottom of the ocean is decomposed by bacteria reducing the oxygen levels in the water. This coupled with the fact that the fresh water acts as a barrier between the salt water and the atmosphere preventing it from being oxygenated, is the primary cause of these massive dead zones. These dead zones, primarily the one in the gulf have increased in size drastically in the past decades and researchers are desperately trying to find a way to reduce their size. For the most part, nutrient levels in the river are naturally occurring, but there are some human factors in the rising levels causing increasing growth in the size of the Gulf of Mexico dead zone. Dead zones are nothing new. They have in fact been occurring for some time in history. Natural nutrients that come from rain water runoff from the mountains and streams along the Mississippi River have always run off into the gulf causing this natural phenomenon, especially in years with high rainfall. Throughout the years though...

Day of the Dead

...THE DAY OF THE DEAD Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday in which people pray and remember family and friends that have died and they celebrate the return of the spirits of the deceased ancestors. To create an atmosphere that a wandering spirit would like to visit the family often creates dishes that the loved ones liked. It lasts three days long and originated from ancient traditions and rituals celebrating the death of the ancestors. The central symbol of the day of the dead is a skull it symbolizes the death, rebirth or return of spirits and is used to honor the dead. During this holiday you see figures of skeleton of skulls-calacas. People dress up in (traditionally) wooden skulls to represent the dead as well. Calacas are seen wearing bright clothes, playing, dancing and singing, to remind the living to embrace death instead of fearing it and to anticipate a happy afterlife. This joyous view of death emphasizes the Mexican belief that the dead don’t like to be thought of in sorrow and that the afterlife is a joyous place. A Mexican artist created a drawing of a skeleton rich woman and called her “La Calavera de la Catrina” or the female dandy. It was used to represent a Mexican upper class woman. Many rich people thought them selves immortally, less likely to catch diseases that poor people had; when in fact they were no more immune to diseases as the poor. Posada’s powerful image illustrate that all people, great or small, eventually...

Is Chivalry Dead

...Phox Truitt Ms. Cannon English 4 Honors 11 October 2015 Chivalry and is it Dead? Chivalry has been around for centuries. It has been respected and disgraced countless times. There will always be those who shame the very idea of it, but as long as there is one who displays its virtues, it will remain an active behavior. During the medieval period chivalry was something to follow as a code of conduct for knights. It was required by them and it meant courage in all forms. One rule that has stood out the most and has persisted through the years is how to treat a lady. The Knight in “The Wife of Bath’s Tale” blatantly dishonors chivalry by rapoing a young girl and after recieving the chance to correct his wrong doing, complains of its outcome, but after respecting his ugly but wise wife’s intuition, he is rewarded with a young, intelligent, beautiful, and loyal wife due to him giving her the freedom of choosing for him. The extensively Knight was on a heinous walk and finds himself facing an evil opportunity. A young girl is minding her own affairs and Knight takes the moment to seize and fornicate her by force. It’s boldly stated, “He saw a maiden walking all forlorn ahead of him, alone as she was born. And of that maiden, spite of all she said, by very force he took her maidenhead.” (61-64) marking the Knight as a vicious and depraved individual amongst far more deserving men of knighthood. This defilement sets the mood towards the Knight as a hateful one in which it is......

Throughout the film, Rick is constantly seen with his police uniform on even though the world is going through a zombie apocalypse. The Dead and the Souls

...nz/exhibitions/pastexhibitions/2011/damienhirst.asp The Dead and The Souls 20 July - 27 August 2011 Preview: Tuesday 19 July, 5 - 7 pm Infamous for his wealth, celebrity and his record-breaking, bank-breaking auction prices, Damien Hirst has become somewhat the poster boy for British Art of his era. Rarely shown in this country, Auckland audiences will be treated to an exhibition of his work at Gow Langsford Gallery this winter. Although it may be difficult not to mention money when talking about Hirst, the exhibition The Dead and The Souls brings together a selection of editioned works, as well as some impressive originals, which will appeal to those with pockets shallower than Charles Saatchi's. The two bodies of editioned work on show, The Dead (2009) and The Souls (2010) envelop several of Hirst's well known concerns; death and life, beauty and desire with a dynamism typical of Hirst's work. The consecutive series are each made up of a few compositions in various colour-ways and each print is in an edition of only fifteen. InThe Souls butterflies, as symbols for both the beauty of life and its impermanence, become metaphors for faith and death, while the skull imagery in The Dead make overt reference to mortality. Laid out like museum specimens and more or less anatomically correct Hirst has beautified his subjects through the use of block foil printing. "Of The Souls Hirst has said: I love butterflies because when they are dead they look alive. The foil block......
