Death Sentence
Hello, my name is Joaquin Solari Costa and as you may know, I am here to talk about the death penalty or sentence. The death sentence could be defined by different things: Is a judge’s official statement ordering someone to be punished by death, or the punishment of being legally killed, or the practice or legal sanction of allowing the imposition of punishment of death for people convicted on certain crimes.
The countries that still apply the death penalty and most make use of it are China, America, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Yemen. However, the number of people supporting the death penalty has begun to decrease.
With the United States as an example, there are many ways to make a legal death penalty nowadays: * Lethal injection: injecting a person with a fatal dose of drugs that kills the person by first putting the person to sleep, and then stopping the breathing and heart, in that order. * Electrocution: Using an electric chair, which was the dominant method of execution until the lethal injection appeared. * Gas chamber: consists in a sealed chamber into which a poisonous or asphyxiant gas introduced. * Hanging: is putting to death by the suspension of a person by a noose or ligature around the neck. * Firing squad or fusillading: a squad fires at the sentenced man.
Another type of execution, which is not legal in America, but it is in some other countries, is: * Beheading: intentional decapitation, usually accomplished with an axe, sword or knife.

Proponents of the death penalty say it is an important tool for law and crime deterrence, In my opinion, the capital punishment has no deterrent effect on crime and wrongly gives governments the power to violate the most important human right (without forgetting that encourages the culture of violence).

...What is something I feel strongly about? I took about five minutes after reading the prompt for this writing assignment before I knew exactly what I wanted to write about. I am going to write about how I think the death penalty should be abolished. There are many reasons behind the idea of myself wanting it to be eradicated. I personally believe that the death penalty is just unfair. The saying “Don’t fight fire with fire” is a perfect example to be incorporated with my thoughts and feelings. Just because someone kills someone doesn’t mean that we should retaliate with the gesture that got them in trouble to begin with. What kind of example is that giving the community, or the whole state for that matter, to handle their problems? Another reason that I feel so strongly against the death penalty has to do with the judicial process that has to be gone through just too even began the execution process. There has to be so much extensive research done to make sure those innocent men and women do not get executed for a crime that did not even commit. Even with going through all these precautions, the risk of executing an innocent person is still there. While this process is happening the guilty party just has to sit and hesitantly wait to have their destiny pronounced. Imagine how the innocent people feel after they wait and then find out that are declared guilty, they were not only accused of something they did not do but then they almost got killed because of it. Compare the Ways Wordsworth and Lawrence Express Their Enthusiasm for Nature

...William Wordsworth's piece, "The Rainbow," offers an intriguing look into the human soul. Standing at only ten lines, the poem details a journey through Wordsworth's philosophical beliefs. The subject of the poem “the rainbow” simply answers the question as it implies, through metaphorically expressing the abstract idea, “ the love of nature” creating the theme for the poem. The imagery of the rainbow creates feelings which help Wordsworth communicate his ideas and feelings. Which in this case are his contemplative ideas of growing up but never changing, like the rainbow never changes. The register of the poem is very simplistic, with short simple lexis which creates a stead pace. Also the gentle soft lexis ‘life’ ‘heart’ ‘sky’ creates a great contrast to the hard harsh word ‘die!’ which is where Wordsworth is at the climax of expressing his emotion towards the thought of not feeling the same way about nature. The majority of the poem is monosyllabic which suggests simplicity but the verbal constructs “was it/is it/be it/could wish” along with the lexis “piety” modifies the simplicity. This suggest the sense of humility and awe Wordsworth feels if the presence of nature and the monosyllables express the grandeur and weight of that feeling. The pattern in the phonology within the poem also suggests awe but soon shows excitement. The beginning of the poem contains long-vowelled syllables such as ‘heart’ and ‘behold’, portraying wonder and bewilderment, where as ‘was it’ ‘is it’...
