Defective Products Abstract
Sometimes it is normal for companies to have defective products that may be shipped to their stores and they need to rid of them. It is ok to have them marked down, and let the customer know that the product is defective and it is the choice of the consumer to buy. However, a company should never sell a defective product that would harm another person’s well being and potentially harm somebody. In this paper I will discuss what I would do if I were working for a company that knew of the defective products they were selling and what could be done.

Defective products When it comes to ethics we first must know what we are really talking about. Ethics to me is really the decisions businesses, organizations or just people in general make. When doing the right thing when it comes to marketing it really means that a company or business from external individuals to the employees internally should hold the same standards when it comes to right and wrong, fairness, and it should apply to everyone. As we all know however, some people don’t have nor should I say share the same values of others. If I had a new CEO that was coming for a meeting with the company and I knew of some of these issues that were going on with the company, I would definitely inform him or her. If I am uncertain about my companies ethical guidelines, I would definitely research the company get all of the information I needed to obtain and then deliver the information that I knew what was going on. At that point, I don’t think it would be an issue of others knowing about the product and what their opinion is if I should tell or not. When consumers are the ones to notice first about the defective products, it can make news and the trust and credibility of the company can or will be lost.
