What is a relationship? A relationship is the state of being connected between two or more people. It is a meaningful sharing of experience and understanding that makes a person partially or completely trust another person, therefore allowing that individual to be a part of his or her life. A relationship is not a binding contract, but a mutual voluntary agreement that comes from all of the involved parties. Consequently, relationships exist in everyday life that form bonds. A relationship is a bond formed when people possess working associates, romantic partners, and family. People create relationships with their working associates to complete tasks and to make the workplace less monotonous. They collaborate with others to increase their …show more content…
These common grounds can vary from a sharing in religious belief, a similarity in culture or ethnicity, or simply a common hobby. Romantic partners express love for one another in very ordinary ways. The male partner is often his girlfriend’s bodyguard, walking on the outer side and carefully protecting her as they cross a street full of roaring vehicles. On her part, the female partner makes delicious dishes of plump shrimps spaghetti and freshly-selected tender beef to make her boyfriend full and feel re-energized after a laborious shift of work. Every day, they greet one another with warm hugs and amorous kisses. A romantic relationship is not a sexual relationship one has to satisfy his or her partner’s physical desire, but a bond created from the potential of a lasting future together. Romantic partners have faith that their companions never lie or use them for personal advantage. They believe one another is not a judge to criticize their actions, but an understanding individual who listens and gives a shoulder when …show more content…
Relationships within a family mainly come from relatives by blood, marriage, or adoption. A typical family includes spouses, parents, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters. Since they spend the majority of their lifetime living with one another through thicks and thins, family members present trust, respect, and care for each other. To a family member, there is no fear when communicating or acknowledging mistakes to the family because he or she trusts that other members will not prejudge or reveal the secret to outsiders. Family members act and speak to one another in a courteous manner, and they appreciate one’s opinion when having a family conversation. Even though life is busy and tiresome, a mother still sacrifices part of her personal time to talk with her son about school and his activities, or a husband might come home with freshly-picked flowers for his wife for no special occasion. Everyone in a family accepts each member regardless of how he or she is, displaying no hatred but only unconditional love. Despite what a low test score their child makes, how intense the argument they have, or even if the child is rejected by society for committing a wrongful action, parents always stand by the door to welcome their child home with smiles and tight

...genocide. The assignment looks to extensively explore the foundations of genocide based on book reviews. The paper will provide an in-depth analysis and reviews of three books on genocide, What is Genocide by Martin Shaw, Centuries of Genocide by Totten and On the nature of genocidal intent by Campbell. Shaw, M. (2007). What is Genocide? Cambridge: Polity Press. ISBN: 0745631827. Martin Shaw’s takes up the subject of defining genocide in all contexts. Through the book, What is Genocide, Shaw seeks to address two major issues related to genocide definition. • Unchanging definition of genocide • Reasons and need for changing definition of genocide Modern comprehension of the genocide ideology arises from a historical and contemporary viewpoint. It is evident over the years that the definition of genocide has undergone minimal change. In the book, the author offers key reasons for the unchanging definition of genocide while at the same time offering major reasons for the need to make the necessary changes (Shaw, 2007). Different reasons contribute to the unchanging definition of genocide. In the past years, people paid minimal attention to the criminological and sociological aspects of the crime of genocide. The Writing Process

...INFORM, TO PERSUADE, AND TO ENTERTAIN. Prose is ordinary written/spoken language without poetic structure. Prose that informs is called exposition/expository writing. Expository writing explains how things work, ideas, how to solve a problem, facts about everyday life, history, controversial issues. Expository writing is constructed LOGICALLY – organized around structures like cause and effect, true and false, less and more, positive and negative, general and specific, sequences or series of steps/procedures, chronology, etc. Ideas in exposition are moved along by connectives like therefore, however, but, in fact, and, for example. An example of expository writing is the information report – facts about a subject with descriptions, definitions and classifications, e.g. scientific reports or business reports with diagrams, technical language or jargon (words/expressions specific to a particular profession). Certain descriptive and narrative writing can also fall under the category of writing that informs. Descriptions of the details of experiences, people, places, situations, processes should be arranged into a meaningful pattern, and narration should give an account of related events/incidents as in a report and in a logical sequence. Prose that persuades is often called argumentative writing. The writer takes a stand, proving an opinion/argument with supporting ideas. The purpose of argumentative writing is to influence readers to agree with a point of view. It presents...

...1020 Assignment 2 Introduction Mass communication is the variety of all the media mediums together, and is aimed at a large audience. A ritual view is directed not towards the addition of messages in space but the maintenance of society in time, not the act of imparting information or influence but the creation, representation, and celebration of shared even if illusory beliefs, James,(1988: 43). This essay will discuss how mass communications has transformed the temporal and spatial foundations of the social-sphere. This essay will start by defining the key terms which are communication, mass communication, and the para-social. ...What is marriage per se? We always believe that marriage (or matrimony) has always been a formalized relationship between a man and a woman, recognized by law and society, by which they become husband and wife. There are several competing definitions of marriage. To start with, Webster’s New Explorer Desk Encyclopedia defines marriage as “a legally and socially sanctioned union, usually between a man and a woman, that is regulated by laws, rules, customs, beliefs, and attitudes that prescribe the rights and duties of the partners and accords status to their offspring (if any).” Merriam- Webster dictionary has a little different meaning of marriage in the second statement. It defines marriage as “(1) the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law; (2) the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage.” A gender-neutral meaning of marriage from the book of Haviland, Prins, McBride, & Walrath (2001) entitled Cultural Anthropology: The Human Challenge states that “A non-ethnocentric definition of marriage is a culturally sanctioned union between two or more people that establishes certain rights and obligations between the people, between them and their children, and between them and their in-laws.” The word marriage has evolved over time by law and soon became more accepted today in our society as couples spent more years of living...
