While diseases remain one-dimensional, the incorporation of patients into the equation brings a wide array of variables. I thought the purpose of medicine was to treat diseases, and sift through patients like numbers on a spreadsheet. However, my views changed when I had the opportunity to nurse a malnourished child back to health.

Admitted in Radda, an NGO in Bangladesh, she also suffered from form of dysphagia and autism. Every minute I spent with her, whether it be feeding her oatmeal, teaching her the colors of the rainbow or just simply reading her bedtime stories, a newfound wisdom dawned upon me.
