Bio and Electrocardiogram

...DENOISING OF ECG SIGNALS USING WAVELETS AND CLASSIFICATION USING SVM Shivanesan S M. 1, Pradheep M. 1, Sharath K. 1, Aravind Prasad. 1, Manoj M. 1 Ganesan M. 2 Abstract- Electrocardiogram is the recording of the electrical potential of heart versus time. The analysis of ECG signal has great importance in the detection of cardiac abnormalities. In this paper we have dealt about the removal of noises in ECG signals and arrhythmia classification of the signal. The inputs for our analysis is taken from MIT-BIH database (Massachusetts Institute of Technology Beth Israel Hospital database). The denoising is done through wavelet transform and thresholding. Confirmatory tools such as Poincare plot and Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA) are used to find out the healthiness of the signal. Then Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used to find out what type of arrhythmia is present in the signal. Keywords- Classification, DFA Electrocardiogram, MIT-BIH database, Poincare, SVM , Wavelets. I. INTRODUCTION In today’s environment there has been lot of threats due to heart disease and no proper diagnosis With the recent developments in technology, physicians have powerful tools to observe the working of the heart muscle and thus to establish their diagnosis. ...A NOVEL APPROACH TO IMPLEMENT DISK SECURITY USING PARTIAL DISK ENCRYPTION Anurag Sharma M L Smitha Tarun T Arya Minal Moharir Information Science and Engineering RV College of Engineering The main objective of the paper is to develop an efficient and cost effective method for Hard Disk Drive(HDD) Security. The task is implemented using Partial Disk Encryption (PDE) with Advanced Encryption Standards(AES) for data security of Personal Computers(PCS) and Laptops . The focus of this work is to authenticate and protect the content of HDD from illegal use. The proposed method is labeled as DiskTrust. FDE encrypts entire content or a single volume on your disk. Symmetric key uses same key for encryption as well for decryption. DiskTrust uses these two technology to build cost effective solution for small scale applications. Finally, the applicability of these methodologies for HDD security will be evaluated on a set of data files with different key sizes. KEYWORDS- INFORMATION SECURITY, INTEGRITY, CONFIDENTIALITY, AUTHENTICATION, ENCRYPTION. I. INTRODUCTION In today’s world information security is an important concern for every individual. People spend hundreds of dollars in protecting their data to stay in the competition, and any leakage of crucial data can result in unrecoverable loss. ...society, or so it is widely said. If we want something (be it information or products), we click a few buttons, then wait for it to be delivered—instantly or via overnight shipping. One can debate the societal implications of this, or embrace the shift. For now, we choose to embrace it by bringing our version of instant gratification to market research article reading. No time to flip through pages of ads and irrelevant articles to find the gems? Here are our picks for the best market research articles of Q3 2012, in no particular order. Measuring Emotions Through a Mobile Device Across Borders, Ages, Genders, and More September 2012 ESOMAR Conference Authors: Rolfe Swinton and Rana El Kaliouby Remember when measuring consumer emotions was a new field that required clunky equipment? That day has long since passed. In this paper Rolfe Swinton and Rana El Kaliouby discuss the use of mobile devices to capture immediate facial and verbal responses to advertisements. Today’s smartphones are essentially handheld computers. And they have become widely used; indeed. Nielsen estimates over half of US adults have one. Smartphones, as our title suggests, span across age, gender, and many other demographics, allowing researchers to gather broad data. Swinton and El Kaliouby started by testing smartphones as a way to investigate ad recall and emotional impact. Initially the researchers tested a slew of television ads in Brazil and a few other markets. After this initial research...

...Unit I Foreign Policy What is Foreign Policy? Foreign policy has many exegesis as there are internationalist who attempt to define this most intriguing subject of international relations. Initially, it has been define as a “ statement of national goals limited both absolutely and relatively by national power”. The Foreign Service Institute of the Philippines prefers to allude to it as “ set of guidelines articulated by the government to a country in order to promote its national interest through the conduct of its relations with other countries” The Foreign Service Institute of the Philippines has likewise quoted a dictum ascribed to President Ferdinand E. Marcos that: The foreign policy of a nation is the articulation of its fondest needs and aspiration, and in international affairs, it is its sole weapon for the promotion of national interest. Foreign Policy is a “part of the general program of government. It is furthermore an extension of its domestic policy”. The term “system” when used in the context of an organization, implies an entity composed of a set of parts and created to accomplish certain, objectives. Related Literature: Foreign Literature According to Martin and Ramino (2002), computers have been domination almost every task that a human can do, making a task easier to do quickly, accurately and efficiently. Computers are a very big help to solve problems nowadays. Charlene Guevarra (2010) cited certain works in her study, here are some: Barnes (1954) stated that Social Network Theory views social relationships in terms of nodes and ties. Social Network is a social structure made up of individuals (or organizations) called “nodes”, which are tied (connected) by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, common interest, financial exchange, likes/dislikes, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige. Moreover Abhyankar (2011) indicated that from the very beginning; human beings always associated themselves to some form of social structure as they evolved across generations. All human beings crave social life, but not all can have time and resources to enjoy social circle where they can communicate, collaborate and freely express themselves with like-minded peers for satisfying their different needs like security, assets, skills, relationships, science and technology, events, politics, history, literature, art, etc. There is no end to the list...

We are also grateful to MS Sriram and Partha Mukhopadhyay for their extensive comments on the paper. This project was funded by a grant from Research & Publications, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. Abstract In this paper we describe a case study of a dairy cooperative, AMUL, in western India that has developed a successful model for doing business in large emerging economy. It has been primarily responsible, through its innovative practices, for India to become world’s largest producer of milk. This paper draws various lessons from the experiences of AMUL that would be useful to cooperatives globally as well as firms that are interested in doing business in large emerging markets like India and China. Many of these economies have underdeveloped markets and fragmented supply bases. Market failures for many of these small producers are high. On the other hand, the size of both, markets and the suppliers is large. As a result, firms that identify appropriate business strategies that take into account these characteristics are more...
